What were the avatars?

I think it was Mayson and TaQ'roja on the one side and presume Optimize for both on the Borg side, but not sure about that.

good replay.

both borgs were opti.

i think the fed might have been risner as they got out a lot early, plus sfc, and did chassis 2 and 3. didnt see any avatar specific ships or turret fire.

the klinks were obviously taqqy as we saw the awesome chargh holding ships down for the fed-hordes to gang rape.

as the unit speech says: "damn it's good to be in the federation"

Haha it was a good game, and actually i was mayson, risner actually may have been a good choice for intrepid offensive bonus, but im not that familiar with her, Im fairly new to feds so i was trying to do a good job, and your right ally trading was off, and that was a mistake of mine, however it seems both teams suffered from it, me when my mining was getting piecemealed, and funny kept on begging for tritanium, haha.

But overall very good play from the borg, very tough to beat, and now im going to watch the replay.

That sure was an interesting game. For some reason I didn't experience any lag that game, yet the video clearly shows how bad it was. The ktinga rush does surprisingly well, and I was still able to tech up to charghs, qaw duj, and vorcha.

I actually forgot we were being recorded.  Not that I would have done anything differently.

For the record, I was sure that sphere was on high special weapons autonomy.

Ya know, after looking at that replay, i realize, feds get ships out slow, unless the are getting warpin asap, i was building intrepids as fast as was possible, yet still i only had two out, when the borg attacked.

Good job tho funny, you and me made a good team, also @ yandon, i suggested the green nebula to him, not that it matters, but i musta not had you on chat.

Also, my main strat early on was just get the intrepids were out, and when the borg were attacking i was just trying to distract the borg from the miners by using the intrepids, until the klingons could come help, meanwhile borg destoyed my expansion which i was probpltely able to rebuild, after i with my fleet of intrepids and warps, and funny were able to push them back.

That was when i started to really get into a good flow of things with the intrepids, i probably shoulda buildt another small yard earlier on to try to get my ship production up, but i really wanted to take the middle and put a yard up there, which did work well.

I got to say tho, the borg were able to field large fleets very early and really were difficult to defeat, me and funny were freaking out when we realized they were both borg, however i really thought that me and funny worker well as a team, his ships were a little more offensive, and mine were able to soak up more damage, really good trapping the borg and such.

Overall i just thought this was a really good game by all, one of the best replays that i have seen, wide variety of ships and good gameplay, plus 2v2s are always cool to watch.

Again id like to thank yandon, probably for the 1000th time, but i really do appreciate you taking the time to record this match and all of them, its really cool that you do it.

It was horribly one-sided.  Your above summary is pretty much correct; Funny managed to catch us apart and flank us, and we died.

Game over.

Not the most exciting replay in the bunch.

Also, screw you for forgetting to put allied trade on.  I say that in jest of course, I know we all make mistakes, but GAAAAAARRRAAAAAGGGHHH.

Yeah, his rush was able to work well enough till I could get my big fleet of intrepid up, I loved using there special which kil one of your dodea in almost one shot, there was a moment where you guys almost had his fleet boxed in tho and woulda killed his 3 ships save for that timely warpin and 4 intrepid fleet, still I thought we were done for, also you killed my almost vet intrepid at the end

And again sorry for not having ally trading on, but to be frank, I really don't think it woulda effected the outcome of the game, I know that on our side as well, we too got pinched In some areas by not being able to trade.  However I have Trading standard now, won't happen again

It was slightly one sided.  Partially because of some bad early resource management by the Borg early on and some decent play by the Fed/Klingon.  The K'tinga rush was probably quite unexpected and proved to be a good strat played well.

Regardless, it was still a good game to watch, mainly because it was very educational, which is one of the main reasons I watch replays.  For example, i thought using the K'tinga rush in a team game would be suicidal, especially against the Borg, but obviously not if done right.

One thing I strongly believe is that if the Borg are played well they are monsters, but if you make a few small mistakes you can be screwed.  Make a few small mistakes as the Fed for example and you can recover easier.

  Like what ....?

We were talking as soon as the game began about what we were gonna do.  Neither of us experienced resource crunch until we hit spheres, but by then we had already agreed to share res - only to find out that it wasn't possible.

Our dilithium start was just fine .... both of us were able to produce our 3 scube / 2 probe beginning if we desired, I just decided to adjust for Dodeca since their were so many Intrepids.  Again, had Ally Trade been on we would have had our spheres out sooner.

Just an obs boggz, but you realized about the no ally trading thing 5 minutes into the game, by which time no engagement had happend and neither of you had built both your scubes

Well, as I said earlier it could have been part of your strats, but one of the Borg players (presume then it wasn't you) had only 2 resource collectors out for the first few minutes of the game, seemed to hit a resource crunch and had to switch which moon he was mining.

Check the replay.
