Maybe in this context we should ask the question:

At what point is using the Intel Center on Borg "abuse"?

He blew up an Assimilator with it.  That was easily 1/4 of the Borg firepower at the time.  Was that ok?  Would killing a Sphere have been too much?

  I'm curious.

  EDIT:

Again, my congratulations to Sergio and Xerjel in that match.  Xerjel had AMAZING micro with his Rhienns and Sergio had nearly the entire map covered by scouts.  Both EXCELLENT jobs and well done all around to everyone :).

in a 3v3 using intel against Borg ist not that OP i guess. In 2v2 or 1v1 it is

i am of the opinion that using the sabotage ability when any borg enemies are present is bad. it wipes out massive chunks of your fleet. here it took out a third of ship numbers, about a quarter of power. i think that the use of sabotage in this match was dishonourable.

i believe that mistakes were made by the borg player, although using adaptors was an excellent move. those tavaras really showed their harassing prowess.

When it comes to Intel vs. Borg, I draw the line between Dodecs and Adaptors. Losing a Probe or a Scube is bad, but by the time Intel center goes up the Probes and Scubes won't be that major in the Borg fleet; they can also be easily replaced. Dodecs are a special case where I only allow it due to the fact that Dodecs are OP. Adaptors on up are simply too costly to lose as Borg. Using against an Assim was huge, if you watch carefully, you can even see that the Assim had one more in def than the spheres.

Indeed.  Game size cannot dictate whether an ability like that is too strong or just right.

I'm glad that they'll be redoing sabotage so that (hopefully) it won't be the one-hit wonder that it's been.  We're slowly removing all the OP elements of the game! :woot:

Also, I wanted to add that this was a great game to watch.  Well done by all.

I just advocate not using it period - on Borg, any unit is worth several times your opponent's units.

Of course, using sabotage on Borg stations isn't a problem.

In Soviet Russia, OP elements remove YOU from game!!   :dead:

I have to agree though, that the Intel Center vs. ANY Borg is just ... just don't do it.

Reminds me of Voyager with the immature Borg drones, and Harry Kim was trying to sabotage their shield generators. IIRC the 7 year-old girl Borg caught him. :borg:

yep the little girl traced his cards to him.

as you cant choose the unit affected by sabotage using against borg is wrong.
