That was a nice match at least the place the obs looked at most of the time. The Fedroll was a bit annoying...practically when I saw the Fed unharmed on the side it was clear that he will grow a fleet and roll in.

You have to admit that my fedroll was a lot different tho than your standard fed roll . It was even faster hehehe.

Edit: oh wait that was the rematch. Hey Yandon you should post the first game we had as my canaveral repair ship strat hasn't been seen often. Would fit along with a few threads about the canaveral being too weak.

No way dude, your strategy was good.  The Excel II's were the perfect tech-up to make up for his yard rush, you just need to work on your kill-getting micro.

First, if you'd had pinging scouts earlier you could have pushed him off.  A well-placed sensor platform would force him to reveal himself at long range so your E2's get a few seconds of free shelling.

Second, the Excelsior II special would have been perfect for that game.  I know it's difficult to use and you can be outmaneuvered, but the E2 deals 85% of its damage in torps with a 40% miss chance vs small ships (which the enemy fleet was entirely composed of)  Crunching the numbers says that makes a 51% damage boost vs small ships when the E2 uses is special.

So your strategy was just fine, you just needed to use the special to get its full effect.

omg.. i just rewatched that game and wow .. i had SOOO many opportunities to crush tokra but didn't take advantage of them... -.-

Of course it wasn't like I didn't mess up either, my micro was off plus I was so busy watching you I forgot to expand a second time :p

Im must say yandon you clint and myself seem to have quite a cycle of who does replays at what times

First yandon pumps out a bunch, then as he slows down I start doing them, then clint starts, then i go on random periods of binging and droughts as clint slows down then I start hoarding replays without releasing them, and then yandon starts releasing replays again, works great!
