The second one was really weird, unbelieveable how often that single sphere wasn't killed

I bet even getready thought he was going to win. Its what im talking about since the beginning here. Overconfidence - its what caused him to croke this time, not just the enemy!

oh, could hit spretz for his micro in the first battle of the first game. decloak by decloak order, don't use attack, just go up nice and closely to that probe.

Good that he didn't otherwise it would have been a terrible fail vs. romulan!

I try out my Saeihr Spam strategy and record it, the results are rather educational. I got my butt kicked, but you may notice that I killed 7 borg ships in the final conflict. I also FINALLY caught the selection bug on tape, devs take note:
When you switch from one ship selection to another, the visuals change immediately but there is a half-second lag on the command palette. In this video you can clearly see that I select the Rhienn and hit the Phase Plates button, but the click registers on the Cloak button for the Saeihrs. I've noticed that something was wrong in the past, but it seems to be more extreme lately. Perhaps it's something with my computer.
Also, I learned that Saeihrs are terrible at fighting at a yard. Like the Leahval, they not only have a replaceweapon special that can cancel the order, they also have high firepower and tend to rank up frequently which cancels the order AGAIN. Nothing to be done, really, except to be more careful about my ships and to put the yard in a better place.

I challenge your strategy! And I challenge your conviction that the Saehir spam is an I win chronie for the romulans!
So as soon as I see you on teamspeak im gonna slap you with a white glove! >:(

I don't think that there was much he could have done different, except ofc building a battle yard instead of the HWP at the expansion. He scouted well, and he also tried to get a second expansion up. Imho the right move against brel's would have been to continue K'vort and maybe go Vorcha as soon as the cash from the expansion starts rolling in and his opponent changed strat to something ideally not sang. Scout stations at all moons would make it easier to catch those pesky brel's, they are inflicting losses when you cloak out, why not do the same to him? He was lucky spretz didn't micro his brel's to shoot at multiple targets to get more then one kill. Later when his opponent had the advantage he could have considered going brel as well seeing that he was building those long ranged chonaq's. Brel vs Brel works ok too, that manual targeting is just soo nice to have... Additionally the chonaq would waste a lot of their limited firepower versus lots of tiny targets like those brels due to the inevitable overkill the assault disruptor dishes out. Then this is just a suggestion afterwards and who know's if that would have been possible.
Another thing with both players was that over the course of the battle I can not remember to have seen a single special been fired, but please correct me if I'm wrong with that. The brel special is quite powerful and the chonaq's special is essential for the chonaq. Seeing the energy on a chonaq run out is painful. The kbq special could have helped sniping brel's that were cloaking or damaged, and the vorcha special is great too. Iirc Spretz had a huge pile of tritanium towards the end. (Those weapon and engine upgrades are gold!) But, as everything, research costs dil too, and you need to have the stations (which cost dil too).
The game itself was interesting to watch as I said before. You don't see taqroja as often as martok and the strategies were fairly diverse to the standard strats as well. Interesting was the approach of spretz to build two imperial yards (expensive as taq! but definetly nicer then spamming ships and having a 20 minute long game.) and to mass chonaq's, especially in a 1v1. I would have expected BortaS since he already had a stash of tritanium at that point and his opponent was still fielding small ships. XYZ's approach with the HWP might not have turned out that well but kept that exp very safe from the brel's.
Um.. enough wall of text for now? (Sure looks like a wall on my small screen I'm currently on, lol)
