Lag?
Which race do you like most? What do you like - what you don't like? Discuss it here.

Just a quick post here about lag. Just recently, I attempted to record Fleet Ops with Fraps; it worked fine. Now, I go back to try to record again with the same settings and get 13 FPS. No background programs. I know my way around a computer, and since I still have 300 GB left on my hard drive it isn't that.
Also, probably because of the engine, there seems to be a bit of lag in general. I normally get 36 FPS, but it will drop to around 20 periodically.
Just something I thought I would bring up to discuss. However, if anyone can solve my issue, please let me know.
Note: I did notice more lag when I upgraded my graphics card a few months ago from a PNY Nvidia GTS 250.
Important computer specs: AMD Phenom II 965 processor @ 3.4 GHZ
8 GB DDR3 1600 MHZ @ 1333MHZ
2 1TB hard drives

your video card is a gtx 560 model, you now notice lag where before there was none, was this on the same card?
maybe a driver update has caused new issues.

Are you certain you don't have AA on or asynchronous cursor?

Same card, same drivers

As I said, I , left the settings the same.

Fraps is supposed to have issues with asynchronous cursor - a number of people have reported that the program does not function properly when it is on, so it could be a fluke that it worked when it did

Mmmmm point taken. But, I tried it again and it worked. Perhaps it was a runaway program that I didn't notice in the background.
I also tested it without asynchronous cursor, the FPS was a bit better when recording; it still wasn't so bad as 13 FPS. It drops to 20 ish a little more frequently than normal.
Thanks!
EDIT: just some grammar.

you're probably right on that. keep an eye on it in future with a task manager style program.

If you have a separate hard drive it speeds things up a lot. Personally I have no problems when I record to a separate hard drive, although I have raid 0 on four drives it's still slower when I record to the main array.
