Kahless Station weapon

As far as I can tell, the main point behind Micro Photons is that they're small enough to take up less space at the cost of not packing as much of a punch with each ship.

That leaves me with 1 question: Why does the Kahless Station have them? I can't see a full-sized Starbase as being short for space.

The Micro Photon and an (old) Photon rack might be cool for the Martok Kahless station?

Where do you think all the bloodwine is kept, Tyler?

    Micro-photons = MOAR BLOODWINE!

I always figured the Bloodwine was in the torpedoes, that stuff's deadly.

Yes mirco photon torp on its own is very boring and seems unlikely, but combined with the photon rack, i like this.

So give the Kahless station photon racks that can multitarget an arseload of ships prehaps.

Or just rename them to photons.

Good idea.  I recently noticed how the Borg station attacks multiple targets with its second attack upgrade, what if the Kahless station got this as well?

I don't think it would be a bad idea to make ALL the outposts multitarget with their full attack upgrades, it makes them harder to roll over by just rotating ships around.

Erm pretty sure the Borg SB only multi-targets with it's beam at the 2nd upgrade. :)

and not only Borg starbase multi-targets

i have seen fed and rom bases multitarget with both weapons upgrades.

im not sure if the klink one does, but i would think it would.

A Kahless Station seems to hit several ships in a random order with at least 2 of the weapons. A Federation Outpost should only do it with the Quantum Torpedo, which I think is the final weapon upgrade.

quantums is final upgrade yes.

Torpedoes from dominion Cloning facility also target several ships

Okay now I need to go test this.  Truth be told, as Romulans I usually only attack an upgraded starbase when I'm able to perma-disable it with plasma bolts and disruptor bombardment.  :pinch:  :pinch:

-I know the Borg SB only multi-targets with beams, like I said that's the 2nd attack upgrade.

-Come to think of it, I can't tell if the Martok starbase switches targets because in all the replays the ships are swarming about and it could just be attacking the closest target at the time.

I like the idea of having one Avatar's starbase do more multitargeting than the other, but also I like photon racks to be very powerful so I'm not sure if it should be the base weapon or an upgrade.  The current system of Taq'Roja's weapon doing high damage with long reload while Martok's has low damage and high reload is really cool.

Hey, here's an idea!  What if the Martok station were to get a Romulan charge on its micro torpedo?  Perhaps double the bonus because it's such a high ROF already.

So for example when it starts firing it goes:
DDD-D-D--D--D--D--D

...gaining a 50-60% ROF bonus for the first few shots that decreases by 10% each shot down to a 10 or 20% penalty.  This makes Martok's unupgraded starbase better against raids and small ships, but weaker in the long run.  Plus you get the awesome torpedo burst they used in DS9, without the CPU load of having it shoot that way all the time.
