Just a thought....

Which race do you like most? What do you like - what you don't like? Discuss it here.

Could the Fleetops engine be able to handle a Legacy quality model without poly reduction? Just straightly converted over? Or is that basically asking for a crash? Because lately there were some good ships on Legacy files that would look really great for FO.

Here are some:
Alita Class
Belmont Type
Bismarck Type
Sun Tzu Class
Enterprise Type
Iris Type
Joslin Type
Roosevelt Type

What do you guys think? Any good legacy ships worth FO placement? Doesn't need to be Federation (incase you ask).

Aye some of those ships look quite cool :). Except the three nacelle ones. Three nacelles are dirty :ermm:

I'd be intrigued to see the ones with two nacelles in game but it's not really necessary to have ultra high poly ships :). I mean, they're tiny in FO anyway so it'd be difficult to notice. I'd have some of those ships but they'd need polynerfing first.

Don't know abt play reduction, but legacy models are like twice the saze of armada models, so if they were smaller, I don't think there would be a problem.  Some are cool like the sun tzu, one of my favorite legacy ships.  alot of the others are tos-tmp, so those wouldn't work, but the sun tzu I'm definitely in favor of

Well. I would only like to see the Bismarck-Refit of the Proxima-Class. I would like to see the Proxima-Refit from Stock ST:Legacy as well, because I love that design of an oldschool heavy gunship.

As a legacy player of UU i actual do know well of these ships... though i never liked the "galaxy with 4 nacells" Joslin thing.

The enterprise typw is very cool, reminds me of my fav bridge commander ship, the Century.

I wonder if the Ambassador Class will have her weapons range changed from short , to at least meadium. Someone here would have to agree that a heavybattle cruiser, doesnt have a short weapons range platform? a ship that realaces the ageing Excelsior and Miranda class wouldnt down grade to short? i understand that, to me the Ambassador is the type of ship you have in the back for the heavy punch, to follow up after the fast attack by your smaller ships, but if the time comes where she needs to be to stay in one spot and attack, but yet guard then a meadium weapons platform is i think what you would want. I just feel the Ambassador doesnt get enough of the fan fare.

Heavy Cruisers with medium range would make sense, but it depends on if the Devs consider that to be detrimental to balance or not.

I'd hardly consider the Ambassador to be a Battlecruiser, just a regular Heavy Cruiser. Especially in post TNG-era.

when it started it was a full on battleship, then when the galaxy class era begun it was a battlecruiser, then when the sovereign came out a standard/heavy cruiser. in my opinion.

Err... right now short ranged ships are the bee's knees because they are very fast and can catch up to anything.  So why would you want to make the Ambassador weaker by extending it's weapon ranged? :whistling:

If you modify the ambassadors weapon odf's it can be medium. Otherwise it's short. My game tells me short, and when I send an Ambassador towards enemy ships alongside some medium ranged ships, it doesn't fire when the medium-ranged ships attack.

And as myleswolfers correctly stated, the guide says the same.

yes i just looked at the guide myself. You are correct it is short, but then it also has shield boosting that makes its shield almost impenatrable to early game ships, it just needs a bit of a speed boost.

The Ambassador is already pretty fast - enough to outrun all battleships and all medium range ships :). Only slightly slower than short range destroyers. What more can you ask for a large sized cruiser with heavy cruiser stats? :whistling:
