Can anyone point me in the direction of any information on whether the Computer AI will be inproved on the next patch?

also in instant action, when changing the AI settings Does Hard represent it being hard for the AI or for the player?

Changing AI settings makes the AI more powerful -> aka, it will be harder for the player  ^-^

brilliant i just couldnt work out which way it went lol!!

Il be honest i dont think the AI for Fleet Ops is as good as Armada II AI

Make sure you dont change the resource modifiers at all, that will screw up the AI, try fighting a merciless ai and they will give you a run for your money.  :thumbsup:

Most RTS games don't have good AI.  They're difficult to make.  The "hard" ones in most RTS games usually end up cheating (e.g. getting extra resources or other economic advantages).

Resource modifiers shouldn't screw up the AI: it's infinite resources that messes the AI up :)

Reducing their already miniscule resource costs'll probably screw most players, though...

What i would like to see in the patch is for all the races to expand properly.  For whatever reason the Klingons only build one mining station outside of their main base.  The Romulans, Feds and especially the Dominion expand normally.  I adjusted the resource and ship build times abit but the Klingons for some reason are the only race that is permanently stuck making low level ships all the time.

Also, the AI don't appreciate my maps, with their non-standard and "optional" expansions.  They usually end up mining each others' moons.  Of course, they also do that on the Very First Map and that has very clear base moons and expansions.

I use Hard AI with reduced AI income, usually around 1.7x or 1.8x build cost and 1.3x build time for the AI.  AI Merciless is the same brain as Hard, but with a greater cost advantage.  This usually gives me a good way to test build orders and early-game strats, anything harder than that and you need to use strategies specifically meant for the AI that wouldn't work against a human.
