Ok I'm a n00b to both the regular game and this mod which I haven't dled yet (lolz).
Anyways...
I look at the "races" and wonder.
Federation, Klingon, Borg, Romulan, Noxter, Iconian, Dominion, Ciadan...
The Federation, Klingon, Borg, Romular and Dominion are all cool. What the crap is with the others? I'm not the biggest Trek fan but love TNG, DS9 and the original and read a Star Trek book every year or so lol. Voyager was iffy and Enterprise just sucked.
Anyways what's with the Noxter, Iconian and Ciadan? The first two sound familiar. And how could you leave out the Cardassians!? The fit with the Dominion soooo welll. The Makee (I have no idea how to spell that) would be interesting. A "race" that's not nearly as strong as the others but makes up for it with "terrorism" type things. lol
Wheeeeeee!!!

Noxter and Ciadan are races that FO team made up so that they fit in the FO storyline, remember the FO storyline is just a bit in the future. Iconians are actually mentioned in ST, but they are never shown, they are only known as ancient superpower so they are not made up

Cardassians or the Maquis are not any more a power than Tholians or Breen or Bolians or.... are. And they can hardly play with big boys, cause if u think like that u can actually add like 3 dozen races so that would take to much time and would suck in my opinion at least. Nevertheless there will be a lot of NP races when the final version will come out

So the Cardassians are seriously weakened. I would think they'd have enough ships and enough help from the Federation at least to get back on their feet a tiny bit. They don't have to be a match for the Big Powers. Anyone creative could find a way to get them in a story. Maybe in the story mode (I'm not expecting them to change it it's just an example) they deal with the last of the Cardassian fleets lol.
The Maquis would be harder being seemingly completely destroyed. Wheeee!!!
Give the Cardassians 25-50 years. Then they'd be a power again. Maybe not in their former glory but they could pull a Germany (Germany was in economic hell after WWII but with help from the allies they're now quite a successfully country).
Just some thoughts… 'cause I'm bored.
Oh and I wish the team good luck with creating new races. If there are more people like me who hate change and the new and unfamiliar then we'll all nit-pick them to death. I don't think I've enjoyed a new "Official" Trek "race" since the Dominion.

Whats with everyone and Cardassians, they were never actually at the same level as the other big powers were(Klingons, Romulans, Federation) and they were nearly exterminated by the dominion and sufferend HUGE loses during the whole dominion war. I am TOTALY FOR THEM TO BE A NON-PLAYER race.

I want to see something happened to the main 3 powers. Federation, Klingons and Romulans. I mean... it's been that way forever. The Romulans might do something if it weren't for the fact that the Federation and Klingons are now good buddies. If Star Trek ever has a new series again they need to bring in a fourth or something to upset the Federation/Klingon buddy alliance.

Yep, the Ciadan are allied with the Romulans, so the alpha quadrant got a bit destable since the ciadan arrived. The Iconians don't help very much in stabilizing it ^_^
yea, just be patient
Let's do v3 first ^_^

The Ciadan follow the same rules of physic as we do. Infact they don't look that different from us. bit smaller, physically much weeker, alcohol based body and a bit to much silicon in their "organic" material. oh and no hair, something they really like on mammal-based species
A Ciadan makeup for a movie wouldn't be that expensive.
The area their homeplanet was during its journey, subspace, does not follow the same physical rules. Of course the Ciadan have a strong link to subspace. They, for example, were for a long time the only ones who managed to transfer mater to subspace (some thing the vulcans proved to be impossible) and relocate mater within subspace. that way they got a real fast method of traveling. And something to keep the vulcans busy.
Well the most "alien" on the Ciadan is definitely booth their personality and their world view. But hey, you will learn about them later
