I have question about future releases?

Which race do you like most? What do you like - what you don't like? Discuss it here.

That's good to know, I hated the planets in stock A2 and much preferred the method in A1.

6-8 months, I suppose it' a rather big update. Will wait patiently something to play with in Winter or Spring.  :woot:

Based on what I know now (that I didn't then) about the content being added, eight months may be on the short side of projections. No matter how long it takes, though, it will be well worth it.

i have to say, i love this community here. normally, when an update is in the line, people start fighting and asking over and over again when it will be released. i dont see this here. everyone accepts that development takes some time and we get updates now and then about the situation. i like that

that happens here too , just this community isn't big, so it tends to be easy to ignore.

our other 'thing' is saying something will be op before it's released, currently i'm thinking dominion are due for a patch where they'll be op, they haven't been op for a couple patches. i'm hoping c11 spam will be the op strat, i like c11s and it seems like so long ago that they were last op.

i'm gonna assume you mean making dominion op is a good idea

EDIT: i might be being a little dense here, i'm assuming you were actually replying to the op's ideas

only question is how to do it tastefully, a repeat of cascade feedback would be predictable, how about their range extender special extends all ships nearby to strategic range? a fleet of c11/bugs kiting from strategic range would be a new approach to make sure the dominion get their turn.

The good thing is, with the redo and the enhancements support-vessels will get, the C-11 will at least be really useful again. With raised defensive stats they (along Canaverals) will get away from their "throw away"-status.  ^-^

canavs are a totally different beast than c11 currently, they can actually take some fire with ec3m and have countering purposes.

and if they arent being used for countering, a very small number can be babied to stay out of battle for throwing in the occasional sensor blackout.

c11s need to be in the fleet to easily use 2 of their specials, and the other one also requires them to be close for the actual shot. they are cheaper as well, so c11s are much more throwaway ships than canavs.

their specials aren't incredible either; they ARE useful, the range extender makes bombers take down turrets easier. the energy can be useful after battle in small numbers, if you can deal with having fewer ships in your main fleet. cascade can hurt leahval spam, but you get no room for error, they'll be able to kill you anytime, and you won't be able to kill them without cascade. but none of the specials stand out as excellent (like meta d/auto repair/proxy torp/polaron stuff), none of them scream at you.

hopefully the new profiles will breathe life into all the support ships. and the fact that the support specials are indepedent, it's a big step, but i think it will be good in the end, as it gives flexibility. i'm also curious about the fact that supports get their base special as a passive now, like sensor syngery for the canav being a passive, that should make specials very interesting indeed.

EDIT: oh forgot to mention, c11 energy beacon does affect non dominion allies, and it only takes 3 c11s to completely recharge any number (it's not capped) of rhienns phase plates before the cooldown is even finished. so if you want to help your ally piss off some klingons with almost constant phase plates, c11s are great.

leahvals have more energy, so giving them c11 support is less effective, but a couple of them left in the corner of a map can basically be a mobile yard for leahvals with auto repair. other powerful specials like proxy torp get help too, dominion have to wait for pink beam of death or v13 to get awesome specials they can spam with c11s.
