How did the rest of the game (09/06/09) go?

(wrt the FFA game on 09/06/09)

Besides laggy?

Who won? Timmy or Noctis?

As my first online, I was relatively happy with my game (i.e. I didn't get steam rolled ). I needed to expand, but didn't think I could have defended it. The cloak advantage of the Romulan at the 12 (I was at 3) was making me paranoid (which means, I guess it was doing it's job) though I felt like I was able to deal with it on some level. I also felt like I was at a stand off with Noctis's 3 spheres. Hmm... something to think about (for me)...

Well, DN seemed to consider me his nemesis or something, and crippled my mining operations at a very early stage. It took me quite a while to recover.

Still, even if people left me alone, I had to fight against the unresponsive game due to the lag. We didn't have lag spikes while playing, we had play spikes while lagging.

Anyways, at one point DN got finally disconnected, and I cut off shortly after that. I couldn't win, and I knew it.

Oh, I chose "Random" race and I got Feds. I don't like playing Feds.

Was a very good game. I'm glad I managed to do something with my cloak (i.e. making you paranoid) considering you were right in that you dealt with me quite well. It was however my first multiplayer game with rommies.

Hehe, I never got a chance to see Timmy's forces, but I am fairly confident that my fleet could have done at least some damage. By the end of the game I had two Assimilators (both anti capital ship assims), a TacCube, 3 Spheres, 1 Diamond, and another two Assimilators in production. (not to mention completing most of the research I wanted at the Transmission Matrix).

I didn't consider you my nemesis Darth, I just needed to cripple you before you could get more powerful--you were the closest person to me AND Federation. To play Borg effectively, I had to attack early, and once I was confident that I would have a distinct advantage, I left you alone for quite some time . Since I was facing a possible three non Borg factions, I set up my fleet to deal with non Borg... attacking Timmy that early would have meant an early grave for me I think--but later on, who knows 

You did quite well indeed Yandonman, and for a time I was fairly sure that you could have destroyed me, as I had lost all my harassment capabilities due to that really nasty lag. Unfortunately I didn't get to see the results... it seemed that although Timmy and Unleash could see my comments, DarthThanatos dropped out of Wippien, and we disconnected from eachother... so after 4 minutes of waiting, I quit 

Not a bad game indeed I just wish the lag would have been... non existent

It would have had to be an extremely well timed "destroy" and/or I would have lost too many ships. Mayhem (rom) kept knocking on my door, several time while I was en route to say hi to you [reverse course, save base]. I just didn't have the intel to do it.

Hehe, indeed I figured as much, because the next time you came to attack, you had a few less ships 

That's why I also kept posting Detectors around the map, as it seemed that DarthThanatos tried for revenge shortly before the end of the game (and my fleet promptly began to converge on his base).

I was trying to get a third pair of moons, or may be the second, depending on when are you talking about.

I'm a firm believer on the saying "revenge is a dish best served cold... with a side order of overkill".

Those excelsiors are annoying peashooters. I doubt they blew up anything bigger than a paper ship...

...Its borg equivalent, anyways.

Ah, but then guess you'd be surprised how much a vessel with 18 offense can do, especially when it has the ability to fire extra torpedoes with its special energy. Pray tell, what exactly is a peashooter in Fleet Operations then?--I don't think any other destroyers can come particularly close to the Excelsior war refit's sort of firepower and defense

This was a game I always dreamed of...

i swear i missed the launch of that game by 5 minutes.  I logged onto Wippien, saw 8 people online, asked someone to play, they replied "in game", got into the lobby, saw 7/8 people in game.  never found out who wasn't in game.  had to wait HOURS for it to end.  Really mad at missing the fun

Install Wippien then. It's hard to set up, but worth it in the end

Indeed, as Unleash Mayhem said, install Wippien. It works better than Gamespy anyway. If you want a game on Gamespy, just ask through MSN etc, and I'm sure people will come
