Hows it going guys,
Sorry to hear about the problems with file front, however if you need help hosting your Mod I would be happy to set up space on my servers to accomadate your Mod. I've been a big fan of the Star Trek community as well as FleetOps. I personally think its a shame to let the work be done in vain. I know the hours and the hair pulling that goes into making a mod, (im currently working on a mod for CNC3). Anyways let me know if you would like to take me up on this offer, It's free hosting after all

welcome to the forums
thanks for the offer. hosting is not the problem, more about support. it seems like they won't post any news about fleet operations anymore and fleet operations and patch project will treated like illegal cracks in their forums by the mods. that just can't be, as there isn't really something illegal in those projects. i don't know whats behind this whole thing, i hope together with the file filefront staff find a solution for this quick.

erm what!?
posting nothing about the patch project is one thing, but nothing about FO as well? are they completely nuts and don't tell me that's just because you're going to include the No CD option into FO 3.0.

we never intended to include a nocd option in fleet operations 3.0 final. it seems to be about a modified armada dll which is part of the patch project that fixed the online multiplayer crash which affects all vista users playing armada 2. though that file (of course) was never in the older releases of fleet operations

I find it funny that they take your file down but as a images from a Trek Movie that was probably not approved by CBS.
I am all most shear that there decision was made from lack of information. But I can not substantiate this. as I PMed to Jan I will be happy to file complaints with Gov Orgs if need of FOs behalf let me know.

Well, Ryan, I have to admit that I'm a bit surprised that you came down in favor of hosting FO. However, I suppose that it's now my place to say that I apologize for anything defamatory or simply off-key I've said about you or to you, because I now see that I was wrong. I just want you to know that much.
On a more serious note, do you have any clot with Joelt left? Would he listen if you reiterated that the offending file is now gone?
More so, do you think it would help?

apparently its not jolt who came to this decision, but the "higher ups" as it were (i.e. the people/ company who owns the filefront network) apparently they say they are doing this only to cover there ends from any wrongdoing.
Doca, didnt you release a non-modded DLL version of this patch? if so why has this not been cleared up by now since the modded DLL arent in the FO releases are they

I assume that this issue has already turned into a bureaucratic one.
Because they don't just replace the dll-version by the non-dll-version, I assume the board made the decision to take it off the network and not "simply" the site's team.
So we will have to wait until bureaucracy comes to an answer.
Maybe A2F would already host FO again.
There's a saying: There's no bad press as long as the press talks about you.
Who knows what this might be good for in the meantime.
