Game Stuttering.

Which race do you like most? What do you like - what you don't like? Discuss it here.

Hello, i was just curious how to setop my game stuttering, it doesnt do it alot, it is only when my screen is over my base or there are ships about, i dont think it should be stuttering like this since i can run alot of high spec games, this is my system:

AMD Sempron 2600+1.83ghz, 758 Ram, Ati Radeon 9500 / X1050 Series.

should it be stuttering at all with my system?

More RAM!! More RAM!!

No seriously, more RAM dude. At least one Gig.

The following may also help:

A processor of at least 2GHz. And the new Core 2 Duos are faster than AMD at lower clock speeds.

A hot rod graphics card (latest)  :woot:

Or, all of the above

Otherwise, learn to love stuttering. Feel sexy when it happens  B)

If you are running Fleet Operations, then let me explain that the mod uses higher quality ship models. While your PC may just have pulled the original Armada 2, the mod may cause you to 'stutter' or in more correct terms suffer from a lower frames (per second) rate.

What you can do without buying new hardware:

- Reduce the resolution. Ships will look bigger and more corny, but the game will be less stressed.
- Reduce graphics settings. Ships will look more boring, but the game runs less choppy.
- Try and overclock your system (am not even going to recommend it without letting someone with good experience do that for you).

Go for the first two options, see if it makes a difference.

if you have a shortage to RAM
use then virtual memory,
it takes what of the HHD,
but that can change you yourself

yep i do also think that your ram is the bottleneck :) while a good cpu and a good graphic card can pump out giant amounts of pixels per second the one who has to memory all the stuff becomes more and more important. Especially with the increasing complexity of games.

Mh... I don't know..

I've got an
AMD Athlon XP 2400+
512 MB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 6800 LE
and FleetOps runs just fine under Windows 2000 and XP with the highest detail of graphics selected.

Maybe, you could try and update your chipset-driver, too. Maybe it could help.

ram shouldn't be the problem here. it may be the graphics card. however a few people experiencing same stuttering although they have high end components
