Hey guys I was trying to install FRAPS so I could contribute to the replays posted by (at the moment) only Yandonman.

I was curious to know if you must pay for and register it in order to record more than 30 seconds worth of footage.  Anyoen know?

You'll need to pay ($37) in order to get FRAPs to work for longer than 30 seconds. (alas :P )

Sigh ... then I leave the recording up to you for the moment, sir.

Is that really correct? I could have sworn that there existed some programs that allowed you to record without having to pay...  :(

I used camstudio to record a game once.  Unfortunately it lost the first 10 minutes and I guess the codec I was using didn't compress while recording, so I had to use virtual dub to compress it.  It was a lot of work, but if you're looking for a free way to do it, that would work.

Xfire has recording capability now.  Though Im not sure how to get X-InGame working with fleetops.  I know theres a file with settings for each game, one would think you would just have to add an entry for fleetops on that list.

Note:  X-IG does work on stock A2, anyone know good settings for FO?

I use Hypercam for recording purposes. It's free as long as you don't mind a little "Unregistered Hypercam" text up in the left.
