i keep hearing about the v.3 patch that maybe coming out right now i am working off of fleet operation beta 2.0 ...patch 1....patch 2 doesnt work at all comes up as a dos command with nothing on it...patch hot fix 1...multimedia patch...and while in game the ships has no warp capabilities like they do in original a2. i like this F.O and i have a friend of mine chris jones who is the creator of universe at war for starfleet command orion pirates looking at it as soon as he gets his copy of a2 and will take a look at it hope no one minds him looking at F.O. we do extensive work on the games and made patches and mods for that game before it became an official release. please let me know if i have all the patches to play this version until they come out with v.3 thanks

Ok, this is the thing. FO is released as Beta 2, that means that it's not actaully final, but you can see it as version 2.0 if you prefer, it is completely playable...With patches and hotfixes of course. Multimedia pack is just an optional addon of sounds for Beta2.
V3 is actulay Beta3, but FO team wanted to change the names of the releases, because beta is not correct word actually for FO releases.
So V3 is avtually FO 3.0 nad Beta2 is 2.0, ok.
Now, for the warp, that was intentional, because FO team, and lots of us think that it is better without it, gives more strategic elements....
And welcome to forums and of course ask anything...we are here to answer everything regarding FO.
I can only tell that when V3 comes out, it will be something that A3 or even A4 should be.

Yep, what Sfera said. This thing has gone way past the mod stage and into the Own game department.
And the fact that the warp isn't in the game any more makes it more fun to play.
And I say welcome to the forum to, even though Im quite new myself.

Yeah i like warp capability good for hit and runs and if ships are damaged they can return to base for repairs instead of being destroyed and costing a fortune and time to rebuild. credits could be a little higher also when i make a ship that looks like it has 3 nacelles it lags game bad so i don't build that one but rest i do. and when i use the starbase cloak vessel locator that detects cloaked vessels in a given area i always go out of sinc so i stopped using it too.
alot of work is needed but i have faith

I think most can agree warp complcated strategy in good and bad ways. For now I hope we stick without it since i'm used to it this way. Makes for good running battles and also ensures your enemy can't move on you without you getting an early warning in most cases.
Of course you could argue the other way, but my points stand. Trust me you get used to it.
