i think i would vote for the Romulans. But the Borg are quite flexible in their vessel configuration - something the Romulans don't like, they favour to react on a given strategy or to force others to follow the way they want.. but well.. i just like their stuff

true, two or three tavaras are more than capable of dealing with a cube. But all the other ships fall in with rest... 2-3 gravinot torps shields down, 2 more ship go boom :borg:.

I think the best race is the fed, numbers... and a lot of intrepid that can score a hit on a cube with the ricobalt torp and cube is very badly dammaged.

The outcome would depend on the cube configuration and Dominion allies, but I think the cube would always be on top :) It would be a glorious battle though :D
Khmm, maybe the special weapon could actually give the Dread a chance :D, I doubt it though :(

Romulan Generix support refit or Federations Defiant class ... I'm not so skilled with the feds so I would choose former. I personally take a group of them (together with some heavy ships) most ot them with special abilities set to auto-fire and a few of them to manual, so if the cube "wakes up" I can stop him another moment. Then, if really necessary, I have enough time to cloak and retreat for another attack.

Qustion towards the ingenious fed-players: How long do you need to build Defiants compared to the first appearence of a cube. How much slower (faster?) are you compared to Romulans Generix?

it depends on how your opponent allows u to expand and on the map. but still i think it is mostly like this:
cube > defiant > generix

I've found that early on, the Leahval is a little god, both for offense and defense.  It's only okay against buildings, but few ships can stand against it, and in groups, it's even good against cubes.  And it's cheap enough and quick enough to build to be used to hold off the Borg, and make a counterstrike after repairs.

So my vote is for Romulans.  I use the Leahval all the way in the end as my primary ship with great success against them, backing it up with either some Generix or a warbird or two, of nearly any type.  I have found that Tactical cubes are a problem for it, since it's damage is beam, but you take what you can get.

Don't forget that the romulans have the best borg-ass-kicking units in the game: the serkas and the cehaler. the cehaler can hold down a cube with radiation bombardment and the serkas can fuck it up with quadcobalt torps. And let's not forget the Generix support. Level 2 of upgrades grants them shield recharge ability. 16 of these combined with a few tavaras, norexan, cehaler and dderidex will spell defeat for most enemies.

the cehaler kick ass, and not only against borg.
Same about the Defiant(just lower range) and the critical shot, in combination with a shitload torpedoes :)
