C&C Generals has one of the best ballancing systems i've seen. No one side has an advantage against another. I think the AI is the main factor in most situations. If the AI is too good, they will win very often. However, ships/units also play a major role in the ballancing.

I'm with Optec, Psycho and cd951 Warcraft and Generals are tops for balance but in my opinion so is FO, is it really that different to those mentioned? I'm not the best player but I can whoop most AI's on Generals, same as FO but that is eventually expected. You take a really good player on Generals who has no clue about 'Trek' let him figure out what all ships do and i'll bet he'd win against a lot of human players out there, why? because there is always some balance somewhere, one ship that has the ability to defeat one on the other team, it all comes down to the skill of the player. So in short, all mentioned are as good as the other when it comes to balance, considering FO has a small team working on it I say BIG kudos to them!

too true... and i lack at the beginning of buildin stations... whenever i play a game... even the easy AI is faster in building efficient than me.. lol.. but if i get a foot in ill sweep everyone... :lol:

for me, no matter what i do i never have any resources at the beginning, but by the time i get four or five resource station built...well duck and cover.

and what about a klingon player who builds many bops at the beginning and then rushes a borg player who has no ship at all, cause thy are expensive?

the borg are already more expensive and more powerfull, the klingons do already have fast-to-produce vessels with lower shielding and the romulans are more the stealth guys... but the gap between them cannot be that large if you want to create a playable multiplayer game.
but the differences between the races will increase with the next betas, but not that much.

as i could see, someone diggin this old thread out,

it would be another thing if all the ships of the borg get more powerfull... a sphere as well should be able too handle several BoP´s... and with the assimilators, and the lil scout cubes of the beginning it would be cool... btw. the biggest cube in here is just twice bigger than a galaxy... and that cant be... when u remember the scaling of the show, it was 3 or 4 times bigger then a galaxy.. so i hope they get scaled better in the future, or we can get our hands on some nasty huge cubes :D

and i hope i can get a huge cube back... not so powerful as the FC or TFC of the original A2, but i want a cube that matches like 8 ships, and can handle them with multiple targeting phasers, torps, holding-,assimilation- and cutting beams :lol:

Edit: btw. what bout the actual drone mass on board... i saw a (refitted?) sphere in voyager that had how many(?) i think it was 40.000 drones on board...
with more transported crew and more crew on ships and more energy for the assimilation/holding beam, it would make it more fun and realistic...

mayby borg ships should cost like 1000 dil 500tritanium and 560 crew for a sphere yeit hadle a a sov or excelsior 2

nah, i thought of faster crew regeneration on the drones centers... and then like 5000 crew on a sphere(i think thats a standard one - double or triple its crew on cubes), more effective weapons, better regenerating hull... and should match any smaller ships up to 1 or 2 akira or something and stuff like that...

all designs more realistic, not only the weapons, so, crewsize and everything

well in my opinion you shood be able to fuse 8 FUSED CUBES TO CREATE AN ULTRLA CUBE
