Unfortanatly right now Mac doc is in possession of legal rights to the code... NOT activision, also Paramount studios is at odds with activision for un related matters, meaning that an "official company" and the modification of the current Armada II engine in order to develop further games, and then market them would be pretty much illegal, as you would never get the agreements from the now three distinct and indiviudual companies, unless of course Activision, Mac Doc, and Paramount agree to get back together, it is highly likely that they do start paying attention to e-mails and comments if they are all on the same topic, so to say that an Armada III is impossible in not entirly true, but more so improbable
I know about the problems between Activision and Viacom already. When speaking to a MadDoc official in september I was informed that they would be happy to make an Armada III game if they had the go ahead.
Luckly for me I have found an alternative engine to use that is not as restrictive as the engine used by Activision and MadDoc. It will take alot of modification and time but I will get their in the end. If I had help it would go alot faster.

perhaps we should just send these three compainies thousans of e-mails a day (all from differnt people) begging them to release the sorce code and threatening not to buy any of their games if they don't

Probably because Mac Doc doesn't have the legal rights to the Star Trek Images, That would be where paramount came in, and activision would actually make the game, meaning that in order to get the game from the company that made it before would require some forceful reassmbly, it is my understanding that as of right now their are no fueds between Mac Doc and Activsion leaving the Key player, Viacom or more directly the Star Trek legal sector of Viacom as the only missing link

Is there any way to convince Viacom's Star Trek legal sector to put it's differences aside and join up again with Paramount and Activision ?

actually it was activision who kicked paramount out, so its unlikely they will ever produce a star trek game again
