Enough with the hate of A2stock and people who like it... that does not make a good community.
Ignore what they say and just practice, that's all you need.

lol I think he already left the forums Tyler. Its funny that you just said that. Because at the very same moment I was thinking "gee....we're usually a pretty friendly and open community"....I guess there is a lot of hatred out there for stock A2 :-p

Armada2 had a quite interressting balance ... if played right, feds and roms were quite usntopable. Personally i think FO is on a good way to a decent balance, even though i still dislike a few things. Both Games have there good sides and there bad sides.

I would go so far as to say that FO makes A2 seem like a schoolboy IT project by now. I played A2 as a kid and was much more tolerant of it's shortcomings but even then it was blatantly obvious that a fleet of 16 Sovies would be what you were aiming for. The specials were all a bit pointless and other than that, the ships scaled directly up from each other with no real differentiation of roles.
The only real exception was with the Borg, whereby the sight of a Tactical Fusion Cube was both a signal that your/theopposing team was negligent in letting them get it and also pretty much a signpost for the end of the game. The sight of TWO TFC's would seal that. I do remember the Romulans had a ship that could seriously hinder them by knocking out their sensors but other than that I remember nothing but assimilation.
I do miss the planet colonizing feature and latinum, to a lesser degree, but I can see why they were removed. I only really stuck with A2 because it was Star Trek and therefore awesome. None of my friends really took it on though (and that's not through lack of trying!). FO saved it on a tether for me, although I must say, there were many times in the earlier days that I thought the FO project would go the way of every other mod and just die out. Obviously I was wrong and all the better for it

Its funny you mention that Phoenix, because my brother and I were reminiscing about how he used to stop me building tactical fusion cubes by simply warping ships through the area they were fusing. The ships would break apart and I would have to start the process all over again. lol. Good times!

Species 8472 cruisers in large numbers could also take out fusions iirc...I remember once my friend attacked my base with 5 fusion cubes, I managed to destroy 4 of them by spamming cruisers before my base finally succumbed

haha, now you mention it, I do remember we used to do similar stuff if the Borg were allowed for whatever reason. Just took one crappy little ship to disrupt the fusion but the act of doing so tended to cause our Borg obsessed friend of the time, to throw a bit of paddy and quit the game. Whoops!
One thing we all found entertaining was when he finally rolled out his Deathcube and then proceeded to get it rammed between a couple of asteroids with it's shields down and sensors knocked out by a nebula. He was on the other side of the room and exclaimed his presence with a loud "NOOOOOOO" as we pounded his helpless cube with artillery.

He just annoyed that he can't get fusion cubes and auto win when he gets one.
Seriously mate, coming to the forums of a mod you dont like is like going to KFC, hating the food and then getting a job there so you can whine about it to people.
Dont winge, if you dont like it gtfo

Haha, we beat each other by mostly simultaneous actions. Writing, deleting, editing. Anyways, I did what you said few moments before you said it, and removed the post but the post I was referring to was so poorly written I couldn't be sure of its intention or meaning

TParis is a pretty nice guy. He's kind of like the Armada2 files liaison to Fleet Operations. Just think, we need our own ambassador!
I can understand where he's coming from. FO has been a strong driving force for Armada 2 modders, because Optec and Doca freely give the things they figure out so that other modders, like TUN and others can benefit and put it in their mods. So when someone's like "FO is lame because I want it to be easy", I can see why he'd get a little sarcastic.
