I still like the idea of a borg cube having properties of both a ship and a station.

the borg having more assimilation tools would be cool.

i think the borg cube will become more special in beta4
sorry they won't get their global redo in beta3, but the dominion and the avatars are much work

I have to vote for number 2. Because when i play with the borg and against an AI say like the feds, will they have sovs, you only have destroyers and scouts and maybe one cube but thats about it. Can't wait for beta3 and 4

I voted 2, because, it is true. The borg started off way to slow in the begginging of a mission. But I also agee, I would have voted 1 and 2 if I had that chance.
But yet another thing I agree with is what was said in the first page of this thread. The borg shouldn't need tons of ships to be "balanced" as the other alpha quadrant ships. You forget that it was 1 single borg cube alone that got through Sector 001's defenses in the episode where Picard is assimilated. It vaporized every Federation ship at Wolf 359, pulverized the Jupiter defense screen, and got all the way to earth with a barely a scratch. I know you guys are trying to make everything "balanced", but the borg being all powerful is canon, and should be maintained. It is just as fun taking on an all powerful enemy, as it is being that all powerful enemy.
Don't get me wrong, I love what you guys have done, my miracle modders
, but this is something that I feel strongly about. The borg should be able to adapt to situations and be able to carry out new scenarios as a part of their adaptations. That includes new assimilation technology, new ships, new whatever. Whatever it takes to assimilate the Alpha Quadrant.
^_^

What about creating a basic Borg vessel, let's say the scout cube.
But only make that one and the weaker ones buildable.
Next would be to upgrade that special scout cube. And only by upgrading that cube again and again, you can build the 3000m cube from TNG and FC.
The result: You build 10-12 scout cubes, but only 1 or 2 will make it all the way to the super cube while costings lots of ressources. So you will have scout cubes, Voyager like cubes (as one of the development stages to the super cube) and 1 or 2 3000m cubes that have the power of a 16 ship fleet but also cost you the same amount of ressources.
You could also give that cube the ability to convert to a new base, a unimatrix that can construct smaller ships again but is no more able to move itself.
Just a few ideas...

I think the cube should be bigger becuse in StV a cube is huge and the intrepid is small so i think the borg cube should be a lot bigger also about the transwarp hub why only three conduits i think five or six would be better just an idea.

The borg cubes are too big for certain maps, there one map (cant remeber name) where theres a central bit surrounded by a blue nebula which seems to hide your ships unless your in the nebula but basically my borg cubes can move from my base to middle to enemy base but then if i click repair, the go deeper into enemy territory and try to go through the asteroid belt. gone off the point a bit but when i try getting the borg cube back to the middle it gets stuck as if its hit an invisible wall, eventually with enough clicking i can get normal cubes to get through but for the command cube its a deffinat one way trip when they attack.
The borg are deffinatly weak, they should have some sort of adaption technology, Like for example if a borg cube is getting a extreme beating then have a special adaption technology so the sheilds adapt until special energy runs out could have them absorb energy weapons like phasers but let torpeados get through or vice versa

The borg was made weak in A1, i personally dont think they should be included in any of the Armada games becuase it just doesnt do the borg justice, I love the borg they've allways been my favorate race in ST but even the ST story line killed the borg, that tiny little rubbish intrepid class starship managed to beat ALOT of borg and adding the queen! what aload of contradictory rubbish
they might aswell have been called "The Bees"

Think along these lines: Command Cube and Fusion Cube.
I think that the Borg are well balanced. The FC is possible the best ship ingame. One torp and the enemy has lost shields. Then, move in your CCs for artillery attacks. Boom. No more enemy. If you adjust your play style, the Borg become well balanced. You just have to play cautiously. Decomision your scout, spend resources well... As soon as you master this, the Borg become balanced.
I have seen AI Hards come at me with Sovereigns while I had Spheres. I took them out one by one before they could send help. Then I got CCs and obliterated fleets at long range.
There needs to be a balance between "Cannon" and "Balanced". If a game is completely cannon, it is unbalanced. If a game is completely Balanced, it is Uncannon and therefore bad. So a sort of balance between the two needs to be created.
