Beta 3

Change from Beta ... to Version Numbers, e.g. 3.0 4.0 and so on.

In fact, every Beta is fully playable und only some tweaks and patches were necessary each time, just like todays games always need patches.

So release it as Fleet Operations 3.0, change to 3.1 with the first hotfix and when the next one is ready, call it Fleet Operations 4.0.

I think that wouldn't be a problem. Example: Corel Draw 3.0 was also a fully functional program, but Coral Draw 7 has much more features. However, they didn't name it Corel Draw Beta 3.0, did they?

Yea, and then when you think it comes time for the BIG AND FINAL version, you can call it something like Fleet Operations Full, or something better that my dumb mind can't come up with.

Maybey they worn't ever have to have a final.

well IMO I think that FO will last a year or more. since almost every month a new game comes out it'll just be a matter of time untill more than 50% of the members in this forum are gone and inactive. And the download drop to a low number. Also If Linux kills Windows than windows will be like Dos or "OS2" and then windows games will be in short supply. and won't work on Linux. only with a "windows emulator"

Linux will never kill windows, and even if it does, we will probably all switch to linux, and the "magical modders" will work on linux


BTW: When the final release comes out you could call it FLEET OPERATIONS UNLIMITED

Only reason I said that was because it seems like you already got the finished version out with Beta 2, it's already nearly perfect. Why call it beta 3 when it's not really a Beta, maybe .3 would be best

Well "Beta" means "tested version". As in tested by the makers and then released into the public or to some "Beta testers" to notify problems and such.

Alpha would mean that it is an untested version of the game that was released into the public or to "Alpha/Beta testers"

So there you have it!! We are all beta testers! lol

So I've got no idea what the final version should be called! Maybe "Fleetoperations full" or something.
