Base options: Borg
Which race do you like most? What do you like - what you don't like? Discuss it here.

I know the Borg and others have not been discussed in the article "The starbase" but over the last few days I have been thinking almost obsessively about them and how their base set up might be. So for your entertainment or annoyance I thought I would rant my thoughts here.
I am by no means a canon expert but in most of the (rare) scenes of Borg bases they seem to be connected in some physical way to nearby structures. I guess my suggestion comes to having one stater station that has a wide number of different upgrade options, most of which would be the equivalent to a station with a specific purpose which gets built as a targetable attachment to the starter. This would make the Borg game play feel much more different to that of the other factions and might even get rid of the need for the construction ship in its current form. Of course something would be needed to build shipyards and new starter bases.
Basic justification for this is from the canon unicomplex seen mostly in Voyager: end game but also I think it simply feels more Borg. I visualise a sort of expeditionary version of the unicomplex. I am sure there are difficulties with the idea, most of all would be how to put in some flexibility on where to position the attachments to the starter.
As an aside: Borg set ups always seemed a bit vulnerable to raids early game so maybe have the equivalent of one beam weapon on each upgrade, in addition to the main weapons of the starter? It seems the need to balance against other races and prevent too much early game raiding against the Borg has led to easier to build ships that have been weakened. My personal preference tends towards few but powerful fleet killer ships on the level of Wolf 359 rather than the ten a penny bunch that came about in Voyager. I guess the ships in Voyager would mostly have been in or near Borg space but the ships in wolf 359 or first contact would again be on the expeditionary/Invasion level. My thinking is that a base that is defended more collectively (excuse the pun?) with each upgrade/base having a tiny weapon means that it might be more possible to have less Borg ships that have longer build times but which are more along the lines with the fleet killers we fell in love with.
My thoughts have been outed for the most part and I'll try not to bug you guys like this too much in the future!
.
Any comment from the developers on the other factions coming? Are they going to be included in this update or is that the next one? Looking forward to the next update with great anticipation and everything I have seen so far looks good :-)
