Interesting... so what's your goal? Trying to make one for every unit, or...?

Nope. I just needed a way to identify who is what avatar in the first couple of minutes. Everyone but the Romulans have avatar distinguishing markings on their very early ships (fed constructor, borg resource assimalator) or stations (klingon starbase, dominino construction yard). With the Romulans, I choose the 3 most likely first ship you would see to show their avatar markings.
Knowledge is power, and the earlier (faster) you can tell what avatar your opponent is, the earlier you can start with likely counters. Or prepare for the counters they are likely to throw at you.
But... mostly it was for my observer commentary

I know what he's doing. The point of it is when you're observing or commentating, it's nice to be able to know at a glance which avatar is which. That way if more people start doing audio commentaries, they can quickly figure things out.

Cool
Didn't consider that off the bat
. Don't forget looking at the yards - that's often far easier in my opinion, as that will tell EVERY avatar but Borg ones apart (and for that, you can use the simple 5+ defense)

Yeap. Looking at the yards to see the production list is definitely a quick way to do it as well.

how much each player has of resources
which avatar they choose
ship count /ship loss
