Weaponsfire kills crew

In Armada 1 crew got killed as a ship took damage. Can that feature be brought back to FO?

I don't think it was ever removed, just reduced greatly so only about 7% of the shots would kill crew.

i think that crew loss should be slightly higher than current (mainly for bigger ships). but should definitely be nowhere near a1/a2 levels. in a1 crew was basically the health bar, it was seriously annoying. in a2 it was annoying to a lesser degree.

In Fleet Ops, there are currently no crew casualties until the shields go down.

Which was not the question. He asked about crew casulties from damage, not ShieldProtection.

I agree. After all, how many people did you see die in ship battles, even when the shields were still up

Since ships repaired their subsystems faster in A1 I found it more annoying in A2. Crew loss also destroyed the subsystems which the crew repaired very slowly.
I think a slightly increased crew loss wouldn't be that terrible. There could also be some weapons of the assim borg that do increased crew damage. I know there are already the nanite factory specials, but a passive ability could be nice as well.
If I'm not mistaken in canon we saw consoles exploding and red shirts dying even when shields had some power left.

In canon we saw consoles splodin and red shirts dying when the ship flew above warp 2. starfleet obviously forgot how to manufacture fuse boxes.
