I've been giving the special weapons issue some thought... perhaps there should be none... as such.... :wacko:

hear me out.. i recently downloaded a ship from armada 2 files. it was called admirals sovereign. instead of special weapons. it had the "quantum torpedo turrent" this fires 5 quantum rounds per second. it didnt use special energy but ther was a reload time. maybe this an a photon burst weapon would make interesting gameplay for feds.

other ideas for other races to come ;)

oh yeah kudos to admiral/ everyone involved with his sovie for that concept... B)

just tell what is it like maybe a few screens and thats it, untill then I think the quantum burst they have now is ok :P

heres 2 more. for quantum burst you have to use it like a special.. ie. select then target. i realise you would have less control of this when using a fleet but surely this would make up for the lack of both standard & spec weapons on individual ships. :)

the photon burst im thinkin of would work in a similar way.

in the second pic it shows the shield remodulation spec weapon. this was implemented merely as a retextured corbomite relector. but perhaps this can be researched at a station & instead of reflectin fire it would reduce the damage a little.

get what i mean??? :P :D

Wow A2 graphix suck, heh. I personally like canon weapons, so to make that the soverns special weapon is fine with me, give her reg photons and have that use like 20 energy per volley.

the wepon that you are describing has to be a special weapon, if you have a button to press to makie it work it has to be a special weapon, the normal weapon files can't handel that...

you can set ships to high special weapon auutonamy and they would use it on there own, I like the idea of having this for the soverign, and having it use 25 spec energy per voley(4 voleys, 20 for 5 seemed a little much), might cut down on the amount the engine disrutor is used and give some variety.

maybe a similar 3 round photon burst weapon for the other ships. this would make up for most of the ships that dont have torps but should. :)

is it possible to make it so that the ECM (remore) only affects the unit using it???
if so maybe that could be used on the defiant, instead of the critical shot weapon. :shuriken:

Well that burst is ok I guess, but maybe a little too powerful :)
