Warp-in crew levels

Post ideas and suggestions on new features or improvements here.

I noticed that the crew levels for each warp-in vessel is a mere 100 (haven't checked the Descent)

It's rather odd to see an Ambassador or Galaxy crewed by as little as 100 men.

I propose to match the crew levels to the warp-in ship type.

strange. i remember galaxies having about 350.  rmember cos i used to watch the count as it dropped when assimilating them :D.

even 350 is low for the galaxy.  I agree, they are two easly assimilated.

Well, it would be a bit much if a Galaxy had 1014 crew (Riker stated it on "Rascals")  That's almost as many as on a starbase. :sweatdrop:

Yeah, I agree, but still, 350 is low, epically considering the sovereign has 400.  I suppose My point is just that they are toooo easily assimilated

Ambassador is 215
Steamrunner is 150
Excelsior 110
Galaxy is 350
Nebula is 250
Descent 600

Those numbers seem pretty high to me, and I think should stay at the height: not as easily assimilated as most other ships that early in the game :)

yes, But later on in the game they are.  And in the begining, there are no ships worth assimilating, other than a Construction ship.  Any way, It all really depends on how you are useing them, and if you are against  the borg in the first place.

Any ship is a useful ship to assimilate... except for the Kazon ;)
Based on the games I've played as and against the Borg, I'd say the crew numbers are just dandy. Anything with crew upwards of 200 is hard to Assimilate, especially if you have other ships surrounding it (plus, I assimilate any of these warp-ins last, because the real damage is done by the Canaveral and the smaller less crewed ships... except for the Steamrunner. That I destroy as soon as possible).

Yeah, I would have to agree.  I guess I'm just still sore about those galaxys. :crybaby:  It really wouldn't be a problem if ships had better lifesupport.  In cannon, it doesn't fail until the ship is almost gone anyway.

Hehe, I had life support on a Tavara fail once... boy was I pissed... especially when it decided to drift into a Tetreon Nebula!

Didn't the life support often fail in the shows and movies though? I mean, ok, the shields were down, phasars were often down, but then we got something like "the alien vessel has drained our energy reserves, we've lost life support!"... though I guess it really didn't fail all that often

Makes it easier to capture(/lose) ships of any faction though, and that's something I do like  :shifty:

I didn't capture your Galaxies though because of Assimilation (that game a long time ago), I got their shields down and that did the trick  :woot:

I have an explanation. All non-essential persomel were offloaded before answering the distress call.

Civilians and non-essential personel during combat would likely come to about 300-500. They would still need a large number of medics, engineers and security so that the ship doesn't breakdown, get captured or the crew doesn't die. Without non-essential personel, the crew would likely come to just a little higher than the stock Galaxy had.
