ideas:

1. rapid fiering misal the fringy used tham in a episode of TNG it did anuff damege to the seeld to cripal the ship i think?

2. an old stile fedrastin disrupter/faser. it mite be cool to see it on an alean ship.

3. plasma beem.

4. a bord wepind used in TNG that wen fiered at the NCC1701-d it casded the ship to drop out of worp and drand its shelds. it was a singal fast engery of some tipe ball like shap.

We Romulans already use them.

The tachyon pulse beam doesn't have much use in a game without warp.

But besides that I'm all for lots of different colored beams. I think FO does a good job of that already.

Im not sure i remember the rapid fire missile (perhaps i should look through my box sets again :P) but i like the idea of rapid fire torpedo-based weapon, less powerful than a normal torp/more powerful than a beam but also suffering from the same accuracy penalty of the torp. Would be quite nice for a gunboat-based vessel.

I do like the idea of the borg shield-draining disrupter. Although it wouldnt have the 'drop out of warp' effect, maybe it could have a temp effect of slowing a ship down. Also, as shields are usually very easy to knock down on ships (especially at the speed of fleetops) then perhaps a multi-firing energy burst that lowers 5 or so ships shields by a certain percentage or a set value.
Speaking of multi-firing weapons, what i do miss from the orginal a2, is the ability (although not the power) of the fusion cube where it could engage multiple targets at once... well i assume thats what it did, as most ships didnt last long enough to see properly :P

I doubt the fusion cube could do that, actually I really dont think it could do that :)

within the borg redo and new v4 features we plan a new tactical cube, too, which should be able to engage more then one target at once
