its an alright idea but its just another detail that is not worth putting in the game.  We don't want fleetops to get TOO complicated

At some point we have to stop adding to the mod and ask ourselves"do we really need to have all that?"

an in experimental yard built with captured or traded tech you can build a hand full of your own vessels equipped with hostile technology. for example federation tech will most likely result in increased defense values and specials like burstfire torpedos.
captured vessels - alien vessels - remain as they are.

Certainly I just missed it but what about the Borg and mixed-tech?
The Borg assimilate tech so there's not really a need for something mixed and they won't propably ever start trading their technology.
Can we expect an alternative for mixed-tech for them instead or weren't they even part of this idea?

directiva assimilation could enable the assimilation of special weapons.  but perfection woudn't
Ewm I find your new sig very offending,  comparing Bush and Hitler is not right

Assimilating any kind of special-weapon would be quite... funny  :borg:
Concerning that tech-trade feature, I suggest that only Borg-Players should be able to do that. (Why should the Borg share their tech with the Dominion? If they'd share their tech, they'd share it with each other.)
However... the Borg should be assimilating more...  :sweatdrop:
But I don't have any idea which benefits you could get from tech-trade or mixed-tech if you have chosen directive perfection.

I agree the Borg should have a advantage when it comes to steeling technology.

I find what Prescott Bush revolting!!! I find the bush family very very offensive. See the truth I think its fitting.

The last German minister of justice had to resign after she made a statement pointing in a direction that there might be parallels between WWII and the plans for the intrusion into Iraq.
It didn't take long for the media to figure out that Hitler could be the one man she might have thought of.
Comparisons between Bush and Hitler are absolute wrong and inappropriate - that's why she had to go.
The connotation going with Hitler is system-planned mass murder.
There is absolute nothing similar to that happening now or during the past years under the Bush administration and hopefully never again.
Bush's foreign policy is a disaster but it must never be compared with the Third Reich. I have to disappoint you, but your signature doesn't fit at all.
