Upgradable Structures

Basically with playing a game Vs AI there I was spamming Incubation Matrixes and then it occured to me, why can't I just build one Incubation matrix which has arms like a spider, each time you want to buy a new incubaton matrix, just buy it there and it's build on one of the arms for the purposes of practicality and saving valuable space in your base.
Also gave me the idea of when you upgrade other structures like starbases, it would be nice if it was visually apparent, like you buy weapons upgrade and the saucer of the starbase is extended and build larger than the other with additional rings. Think of LOTR BFME2, that kind of thing where you can visually see how well armed the fortresses were. Jusr an idea, peace out.

RTCW:ET had minas and that fortress with the bell tower. kinda a fun killing others on minas when defending, but that is out of aspect with what was portrayed on the trilogy.
anyhow, the borg uni-complex when the USS Voyager's crew discovered it, has many connections between the stations and billions of drones, many cubes and other ships. however, if the incubation center became one giant center and not much health improvements, it can be just as easily destroyed negating the idea's effect, even if the centers were detachable, the main center would be targeted, like stock A2 research centers and their tiny weapon addons, the addons are destroyed in quick succession to the main center once it was destroyed.

Hmm., well the expansions should have the health equal to the incubation centers they do now but as for the hub then best of making it able to upgrade its defense too so it's just as tough

You could always give incubation chambers, instead of a holding beam, a very weak version of the auto assimilator, when you get the upgrade from the transmission matrix. If their was someway for this to be changed to supply, it could give a very borglike way to gain supply, just as klingons can do by fighting.

How about giving the central node the total health of all the incubation centre upgardes you have got, but decrease every time one is destroyed. Then there would be no advantage to targetting the central node and destroying individual nodes would be worthwhile to delay your opponent.
Assim incubation centres already assimilate enemy crew when they are nearby.
EDIT: I'm actually in favour of making borg bases one structure with nodes/upgrades, but I think it might be hard to do well. But I think if you do as I described above, it wouldn't be too bad.

EDIT: I'm actually in favour of making borg bases one structure with nodes/upgrades, but I think it might be hard to do well. But I think if you do as I described above, it wouldn't be too bad.

Iconian I think, due to not existing in this universe anymore. I assume 'Norxen' means Noxter, they're the big bugs.

I thought the iconian idea is only 1 structure, but it doesn't grow any bigger, it's just a command centre, ala DOW2

Upgradable or not, 1 structure is 1 structure all the same. Arash8472's question wasn't about upgradable stations, it was about who gets only 1.
