Two Races equals...BORING!

I am a great Star Trek fan, and I downloaded the second version's demo, because I just didn't want to pay 114 dollars for a single game. After I beat the story mode level, which was the first level of the Federation Campaign. Then, there is the instant action levels, where you can play as the Federation, and the infamous...
Well, you know. But thats bloody it! If anybody would be so kind, could someone make me a patch of some of the other races? (8472 most preferably) I don't have much in the way of programming, so I can just install it, and it will work. I would like it very much, but if it is not possible then I will understand. Anybody who is able to, or knows where to get the whole version for under forty dollars, then please post. We Are The Borg!

Isn't that on the same level as "Could we please code in a no CD feature into X game to get around its security"?

umm ya if you want to do that then you should just do a *cough*torrent*cough* because that is exactly stealing the game. you can call is something else but it will still be steeling the game. so for god sakes if you want to hack the demo so that it will be almost like the real thing then you might as well steal it. because you are not going to be able to get the models for new units and the odf files or anything else by your self you would have to get them from some one else. and in that case you might as well just borrow it from some one on a torrent. >:( so could we stop with this "can we install this MOD with out the cd" or "can we make it so that when I am lazy I dont have to put the cd in my computer" or "can I play the game with out really buying the game" and by mod it means MODification which means that it changes the game not replaces it.

Well, I don't want to do any programming or illegal.
Is there any way I could have a mod that replaces some of the races, and then I can turn off the mod if I want to do anything different. But, to install a mod, don't you have you have to reprogram the game or something? What does that one Fleet Operations Preview 3.0 do? Is it like a new version of the game, or do you need the full version, or something?

Hi and welcome to the forums
Yep, Fleet Operations requires the full version of Armada 2 - basically you require an Armada 2 Disc to install Fleet Operations.
Fleet Operations is a total conversion - that means a mod that changes almost every aspect of a game - to make Armada 2 the successor of the popular game Star Trek Armada, that it should have been. You can find more infos on our main page. You can find a gallery with pictures of all released versions on the left. New gameplay features like the experience system are posted in the News Section of this board.
The Armada2 Demo should basically be modable, but as far as my knowledge goes you cant increase the number of playable races. Sadly i don't know of any moding team that uses the Demo, so i fear you won't find race-patches and the like.

Actually someone did do a star wars mod using the rebel alliance and the empire to create a mod for the demo version of Armada II...

So, if I download and install Fleet Operations without the Armada II disc it wont work?

Without the disc I don't think you can install it at all.

Know where to get it? I have looked around and couldn't find it anywhere. Links are great! i also wanted to ask if anybody knew where to get the whole game, (Armada II please!) for dirt cheap? Basically my budget is about thirty dollars. Twenty dollars or something is good. If anyone has a spare version they would like to get rid of, I would buy it. (Although I would probably buy off of ebay) [br]Posted on: August 28, 2008, 06:34:07 PM

I think that I don't really have any problem with my demo being boring now, because I have found a way to get the game.
