Troop Reasource

I was thinking, if possible, maybe you could have Troop Reasources. Heres how it works. You get maybe 7000 at the start of the game in the reasource box along with the other reasources. When, for example, you have a troop transporting ship being built it requires 300 Troops.

Troops would have higher strength factors than normal crew and would allow players to take stations and ships faster. But as I said you would only have a limited supply of them.

Any ship with them on they could have a choice to either transport normal crew or the elite troops. Any suggestions would be helpful.

i dont know its its posabul sawnds like you mite need the soerce code for it.

maby after a sertin tipe of ship is bilt it whood have a upgrade option like so ment of the romulan ships do this up grated butin whood sind it back to not a ship yard but it whood sind the ship to dock with a star bace geting the crow.

and if thes ships are upgraded with the new crow abord and distroyed thare whood be some esape pods that cood be capcher by findly ships. if thay are not tuched by frindly ships thay exspodes after a wile.

if a pod is recuded you will only get back 60%-5% of the crow on bord the ship.

what about that?

1. it sounds like a klingon ship to me.

2. not the escape-pod thing again. we already discussed that alotta times with a "not possible" as a result.

sounds a bit pointless a troop ship as you fight in fleets, i rerely take over ships in a battle

Indeed, there are many incentives to capturing portions of enemy bases instead of destroying them, especially in a large map with lots of expansion bases ...

Both this mod came out on the original a2 I captured the enemy base almost everytime. It was a HUGE advantage to have the tech of 2+ races. It's almost impossible to do in fleet ops, though. -_-

Thats where Tavaras come in, 3 Tavaras and you can take ANYTHING. That or some assimilators and cubes.

And really you don't even need special ships like cubes or tavaras, just have 10 destroyers transport simultaneously to a station, that'll take it easily. Starbases are much more difficult, but it's easier to take construction ships and use those to build starbases.

Disable the weapons systems on the Starbase via some special weapon or just let it get down to like 30 HP, then you would have about a 50-50 chance that it's guns are already knocked out.

so let me get this straingt (I really got to read these more often...) you want troop ships back in the game? It ins't like you need another recource, there is already an ODF for this... but How bad do I want troops ships, not really that much (and If the Tavera is going to get that ability of its, I don't see why the Klingons don't get it as well it is more their stlye anyway)

Yeah...We want some race to have some Troop ship...Probably Klingons (Just to make there horrible race alittle better...).

Troop ships were an idea that was in A2. In a way, it would seem reasonable to have them in FO.

Also, I should point out, the Tavara is a troop ship in its own right. It has 1350 troops on it and it can be recrewed like a starbase.
