Since it seems that Tritanium is what it increased because it's the renamed Latinum, I was thinking to swap the Tritanium and Supply resources.  Make it so that supply is the renamed Latinum and Tritanium is the renamed Biomatter.  It may take reprogramming many ODF files, but it would save a lot of time on the DLL file.

I was thinking

That's good, but remember to keep thinking as it will improve digestion.

By my calculations, changing the tooltips, icons, and swapping the costs for each resource should be relatively easier than creating a dll that physically renames the resources and/or changes what resource will be used for trade.  Here's what's going on in the program.

Dilithium, Latinum, and Biomatter are the resources being used in fleet-ops to build a ship or station.  During a trade process, you would gain Latinum with each cargo vessel that unloads at your station.  But, the Latinum resource has been renamed on the user interface to be a type of metal.  Because it's still Latinum on the coding level, that is what is increased in a trade process.  Since Biomatter appears on the interface as supply, but doesn't increase with trade, if Biomatter is displayed on the interface as Tritanium, then you would not get free metal to build your ships.  Since Latinum would now appear on the interface as Supply, Supply would now be what is increased with trade.

So on the coding level, Latinum and Biomatter would not be changed, but when viewed by the user, the resource that is used in trade would appear to be supply instead Latinum.  Did all of that make since?

Oh, and if it's easier to build a DLL to do this, then do it.  I'm speaking from my VERY limited experience in C++.  Because of this limit, it seems easier to me to just reprogram the interface. using those text files instead of compiling a new DLL.

hm, nope, there is not much magic involved in renaming a variable and Fleet Operations won't use the Armada 2 trading system either way

How would trade be implemented other than instantanious trade?

Maybe he means that latinum won't be the product?

Right now, Tritanium is the product.  I was thinking of making Supplies the product simply by reprogramming the interface to render latinum as supply instead of tritanium, and render biomatter as tritanium instead of supply.

Yep, we will not use the Armada2 system for trading your resources with NP factions. Player-to-player transfer will still be as it is now
