This would be my best idea yet. A Translanguistic IA/MP engine, designed to be able to support translation through the game. All text is translated into the language used by the computer user through a spelling and syntax subroutine. So the odfs and program maybe in english, but if you are a German User, it'd automatically translate to German. So you could have people from 4 different countries in one game, everyone would understand the text because of the engine. In order for more accurate translation the program would anylize the language used on your computer and its Grammar and Spelling settings to more accurately translate the game.

This could take much work, but when accomplished then this would increase international interests in this game. ;) More interest means more players. :D

But an automatic translation is lost if words have more then one meaning. The results do have more a funny or frustrating character then a helping one.

This is because games are translatet by humans. They can transport the meaning of a sentence in an other language.
If you like to have a german translation, I think some people working on them. Just help them ;).

Gamer, do you also realise that there the game supports localised language files as far as I know, so people can all be in one game and has different tanslations, it just needs to be done by hand (which imo is better than automatic translation).

pssshhh....just learn the other fellow's language and then hop on a voip server.  Its not that hard.  Das ist mein Hotdog.....see...I just told you that's my weiner in German! :-p  or Je vais a la plage ....which is I go to the beach in French.

In all seriousness....I don't think this would be a good idea for the game.  There are too many differences between languages, particularly with pronunciations and accents and false cognates.  I could say "They are cloaked near your base." ...according to freetranslation.com I get "Sie werden von Ihrer Basis verhüllt" in German.  When translating to English, freetranslation.com gives me "They are wrapped of your basis."  To all the German players out there, let me know if that's right.  But you always run into problems like that.  I used to speak fluent French so I'm a bit familiar with some of the problems between 2 languages.
