you can whit you enemy and allys trande( you ar te Federation)
exmeble you want :from the borg ally a Transwarp Hub but you most i the place to give : a Researches Special station but you ally is not a greet (i wil more tings) .....

I've wanted trade back, but I don't think I would want to trade research. Especially seeing as how few research things are the same for races, unlike alot of games.

yeah...trade was a good thing. In some species u get so much of one ressource in time and u cant use it. for example the borg. in the end i always have so much tritanium and im not able to change it in dilithium ( like in a2 with the recycler station)
take that principle for other races with an ordinary trade station.

If trading generated all the minerals like it generated crew in the original A2, it would be worth it.

well i find the whole trading station with the ships a pain in the butt. you need to spend all your resources to build those trading ships for a few resources you need for research. or atleast that was in A2 especially the cardies

If it generates alot of resources then the advantages outweigh the startup costs.

yep i like the trading part of A2, but not trading research, there isn't even that much of it going on in trek universe, considering all the alliances that are made. most hybrid tech, is a result of it being stolen, captured (from ship wreakage) ie, finders keepers. so i think just normal trading for resources :)
