Exactly.  Even one screen away could also be far enough to tow a mine harasser into Starbase/Turret- range.

AND.. Let's not forget derelicts, as rare as they may be, could certainly be towed into somebody's base for them to recover.

if the cube is that close to an enemy base they were probably on their way to flatten it anyway.

i did not contest that dragging a cube into a fleet isnt possible :D

Well, Maybe not a cube, but an early-game sphere loss could be tragic.

As for Dom's post...  If a replay ever goes up where a retreating, damaged cube (tac?) is held up long enough, by an observer, for it to be fried, that would:
A ) Be awesome.  (Not for the Borg player)
B ) probably prompt a lot more "NO NPC RACE" toggles.
C ) Be awesome.

i think were all missing one minor small and insignificant  detail and thats the cargo ship currently dose not work (well the ferengi one dse but a player controlled one like in a2 does not)

PC Cargo ships don't work because there's no station to dock with. Add in the correct odf code and the Trading Station and they'd work perfectly.

Somehow, 'no weapons' seems just a little inaccurate...

Oh wow! I just assumed so cause it never fires anything. My mistake then.

No idea why they have engine disablers though...
