We all love the Kbeajq, but sometimes it's a little too easy to build up a critical mass of them and blow ships away with their heavy disruptor/torpedo drone.  I know there are plans to balance it, but I had an idea on how to do it for this ship.  I assume that when the neghvar uses it's weapon overload, it triggers a replace weapon that denies it from firing torpedoes for 30 seconds.

I'd like to see a similar replace weapon trigger for the Kbeajq, but once the ship uses its special, it triggers a replace weapon that slows it down for 10-20 seconds or whatever.  So instead of a speed of 120, it would drop down to 70 (or whatever) for a while.  Maybe the heavy disruptor drains power from the engines.  You know some of those Klingons didn't exactly pass engineering school. :blush:

This would help make a powerful ability have a nice downside, but wouldn't be too crippling, depending on what the actual values ended up being.  Ships could flee from massive fleets of kbeajq, and it would be harder for the kbeajq to snipe and run away.  And if we really wanted to be nasty, energy had to be diverted from the cloaking device as well, so no cloaking during that time. :sweatdrop:

we already took a look at the heavy disruptor / torpedo drone, and it is now on a long cooldown :)

Also I'm kind of against gratuitous use of the replaceweapon.

  It can cause a LOT of headaches when you are trying to micro your vessels, repair your vessels, or basically issue commands.  If the KBQ were to get a replaceweapon that lasted 20 seconds you'd activate it, fight, send it to repair, then shortly afterwards you might see that silly KBQ wandering back to fight with no health because the replaceweapon triggered again and made it forget it's orders :(.

  But I agree that a Critical mass can build up pretty easily.

I agree that replaceweapon cancelling orders is extremely annoying, are there plans to make ships continue with last issued orders when a replaceweapon triggers?

maybe they fixed the problem with replaceweapons causing amnesia? that would be awesome
