While reading up on this mod (and discovering it takes place AFTER the Dominion War), I began to ponder... whatever happened to the Breen? They never went to the Breen homeworld or anything else like they did the Cardassians. They also never destroyed or attacked the Dominion Worlds as far as I know- so where did the huge, massive Breen military run off to? Now that I think about it, why weren't they in the final battle?
Anywho, nonsense aside, I think it'd be great to have a pure, player-race of Breen. I love the Breen, and nearly everything about them. My favorite being the battleships ability to shut down a ship with a single, specailised torpedo.

They weren't in the final battle because they called a truce and retreated, saving their ships for another day... cowards! lol. I like the idea of a pure race of Breen... but it would kind of screw with the idea of the Dominion/Breen alliance thingy (or maybe there could be some sort of factional reasoning to this)

The Idea could work. The Breen with the Dominion could be Rebels, or ships loaned to the Dominion.

I read a similar thing to Dom (on memory alpha I think). The Breen buggered off because they were scared of the relatively new Federation-Klingon-Romulan Alliance. Also Starfleet figured out a way to defeat the energy draining torpedo (I think because they captured a Dominion bug ship with the weapon partially installed). The way I see it, the Breen weren't stupid enough to try to win the war at that point. We don't really even know their original motives anyway.
I've never really liked this "alliance" idea in the game. Even in an alliance, races are separate (just think how ludicrous it would be to to put "alliance Klingons" into the federation tech tree). It's far better to be able to use and grow an entire race in all its glory. The main reason not to insert an alliance avatar into a race is that alliances change. How do we know that, say in the 2420s, the Breen are not enemies of the dominion? It's better to let the player choose who is allied with whom via a multiplayer game, rather than having it imposed upon the race.

well i'd say the main problem is that we have only ever seen two ship degins from the breen which doesnt give much to go on station wise... just that they like their layed objects.. now im fine when it coems to modelling, my texturing is pretty piss poor... but i can wip up good models so if you can fidn soem random reference ideas somewhere feel free to link thm and i'll start on a few...

Perhaps the ships that we saw were the only two designs that the Breen managed to send all the way to the front in their expeditionary forces, and it is likely they have larger, smaller and a variety of medium sized designs, focused on Torpedos.
