Team Handicaps

Post ideas and suggestions on new features or improvements here.

Since many times teams are not that equal in terms of player skill I would like to see a team handicap. This way a weaker team becomes better e.g. gets +% in ship defense. Configuration can be done in the Advanced menu for each team.

Sounds good - but might be better done on a per person basis, as that would be more manageable for many situations :)

Heh, usually the "really good player" is already handicapped by the "really bad player". :pinch:

Cool idea, especially on a per player basis, like the AI handicaps perhaps?  Time and cost handicaps.

Why build three shipyards if you have no economy?  It would make more sense to use the ships you already have to try to hold off the opponent while you get your economy operational.  Then build those yards.

By the way, I like the per-player basis better.  That way, an inexperienced player won't cripple a team that much.  But a per-team basis would cause a severe overpowering of the team with the inexperienced player.

The problem with individual handicaps is that in a team game 2 or more can group and attack another player. New players tend to have bad reaction when allies are attacked. So in order to compensate the disadvantage of this the remaining team mates should get a boost in defense stats to allow the newbie a bigger time frame to react.
