Viper, primarily, as he is the one who made the declaration that a sphere's damage can be ignored, which should never be the case.

you can only ignore a spheres damage in certain situations....specifically once an enemies fleet has hit critical mass.
because the damage of 20 ships will drop a spheres incredibly fast. so even if you have say 5 or 6 you could easily lose 3 due to the massive amount of damage output of the 20 ships. even if i killed 10 of your ships, 3 spheres is ALOT to lose due to CCs. that situation is limited to ships like sangs though... god sangs hard counter borg ships so hard lol.
typically hard counters handle this, but borg spheres don't hard counter alot and installing modules for resistance to types of damage imho doesn't decrease the damage taken from those weapons enough to be effective.

I strongly agree with yandonman about tactical cubes being more expensive. I was considering suggesting something similar, namely that a cube can be built with anywhere from 4-6 modules, with prices adjusted accordingly. I want to see more regular cubes that cost less, but can still have the option of being tactical cubes.
Here's another idea: what if tactical armor was turned into an upgrade? As in, it's removed as a module for the cube, but AFTER the cube is finished it can be upgraded for a cost. The cube becomes immobile and cannot defend itself for a short while, and when it's done it becomes a tactical cube. This would allow players to build a cube earlier in the game if they want, but building a regular cube wouldn't prevent them from building a tactical cube. It fits with canon: a cube isn't fitted with armor unless a serious threat is nearby, then it 'adapts' to the situation by upgrading its defenses. Also, teams cooperating for cube rushes becomes less overpowered because the build time of a tactical cube is effectively higher while a regular cube is less of a dreadnought.
This may be too big of a change for the next patch, in which case yandon's idea is much simpler and should be considered.

It doesn't fit with canon, because we don't know if a Tactical Cube is upgraded or built.

ahm... Tyler then it doesn't fit canon either way if its built or upgraded because we just don't know.

A significant portion of FO doesn't fit with canon. Game play > canon.

I know and that's besides the point, which was that canon did not show the origins of the Tactical Cube.
