Hey,
just an idea I had;
I like the armada 2 trade station. That was tactically intresting, loading freighters with resources make them travel across the map to your allied trade station and only than transferring the goods.
This would make it cool for like romulan and klingon players to have cloacked ships on a trade route and wait for freighters to pass by and / or getting people to set up armed escorts.
Just wondering what the rest thinks

It will also be a nightmare if it happens to you. As long as the increased risk of trading (as opposed to click purchasing) is offset by better returns then it will be cool. Or enable the Ferengi to make appearances and trade with you without the need for trade routes. And of course, you would need to have the ability to trade with yourself if you are playing solo, possibly number of supplies gained proportional to distance traveled.... forget which game had that, one of the Age of Empires or something similar.

It would be really cool if, by putting a trading station in the vicinity of a base, or mining set, and linking it to another, you could increase the productivity of the miners, and repair rates of ships, due to increased supply cashes. You could get even cooler bonuses if it was linked to an allies station.

yea, exactly, I like the bonus idea, also the bonus of when your ships would arrive at an allied station it gives more resources due to some kind of tax bonus.
Or create cash like in armada 2, giving back latinum but only able to generate it by trading (could include the ferengi somehow)
also maybe a ship from your faction could warp in now and then (exception of borg ofcourse) to get extra supplies for your supply pool....
should be able to build only 1 ofcourse
I'm gonna work something out...

trade stations from a2 already work but cargo ships are a bit tempermental (need hotkeys to work correctly

Right-clicking still works with Cargo ships.

Great Ideas. :thumbsup:
Juicy cargo ships always add to tactical deliciousness... :lol:
Especially if you can capture them and reap whatever di or tri that was intended for your foe.

Cargo ships are better-off captured than destroyed. Because then you don't have to build any of your own! Resource saver! Then the enemy has to build new ones when he realizes that he is out of cargo ships! Resource waster for the enemy!

right click dse work for a basic trade route but if u want specific resource loaded then you'll need the hotkeys but yh good right click should be fine in most cases (would rather this form of trade than the instant transfer of resources)

I like the ideas for trading stations. I had thought today: in most team games resource transfer is an instant thing through the comms menu. It might be kinda cool to have it in the trading station instead, make it dependent on your ally having a trading station as well - it would make trading stations juicy targets especially if a dominion player was sending supply to his ally. Though it might make it hard for partners who've lost to transfer everything over impossible. But by that point it usually is "gg".
