subtile Borg changes

Post ideas and suggestions on new features or improvements here.

well there are two things that i mis when i play the Borg. In voyager you see the main plexus like one big gigantic base. What if all the Borg structures join or create a bond when in range so you get one massive base block if technical possible.

Other point i mis is the assimilation of ships they just stay the same shape. in armada 1 you would get some Borg panels on the vessels you assimilate. Also if you could upgrade these ships that would be so awesome. just like the episode of enterprise where the Borg is found on the earth. 

Well maybe some good idears and if anyone could make them possible its this team.

Well the mod/game itself rocks i like all the changes  :borg:

Very much like my idea I posted a few days ago, once you assimilate a ship, u can upgrade it to a more borgified version.
FleetOps has Borg textures for ships that have been assimilated, but I assume most ships are yet to receive those textures.
A big problem I can imagine with having one unified building as your entire base, such as the plexus or any other modular structures, is all one needs to do is target the main building, and all those expansions built onto it will be destroyed at the same time (try it with the Klingon Shipyards that have the 2 expansions... just target the central structure and you save some time :).  Unless the team knows a way to get around that, I don't think it would be a very good idea... target the HQ and the whole base goes down in one massive explosion... erk!

I think he want's sections connecting the structures done in a simmilar way as the shuttles that zip from station to station, not an actual modular base.

indeed not a modular base that would be a bad idea. I mean something like the screenshot i have

yup. we all agree with you avathar. I too had ventured this same idea. However, the mods were unable to implement it as there are constraints in the Armada engine in regards to how it would be processed when we destroy a part of the superstructure as opposed to the full construct.

There are a few threads about borg construction already :)

I think the "bridges" would be more eyecandy then actual bridges, for fear of a huge base meltdown.

We don't know if that is the full base or just a section.

The Borg may only join structures that have the same purpose.
