Are the effects of sub-system failure ever going to be reintroduced?

Like venting plasma from the nacelles for engine failure...

Can there be different colours for different races? After all not all races have the same drive plasma, and there should be varying colors for different warp plasma of differing races.

Hmm, the emissions of the life support systems could vary in style and colour ... but the plasma, well, it's plasma and plasma has mainly a boltzmann-distributed spectrum, which means it will be white when it comes out and become yellow, orange and red, as it cools off. The style of the ejection could vary though. Perhaps for some ships it could leak out as a thin longranged beam, for some it could be cloudy, of perhaps pulsed.

For ships whose engines are disabled, venting drive plasma should result in them drifting slowly or perhaps spinning. this is seen now but perhaps it can be a direct correlation with the amount of damage, and where the plasma streams are emitting. I understand there are technical limitations... but it's an idea

actually all of this was stock in A1.  Stop me if I'm wrong because I haven't played stock A2 in years, but isn't it also standard for a blue plasma jet to signify life support offline while Orange was Engines?
