I was thinking if we made everything stronger and longer build times that you might have more intens battles and ships would actually mean something

PLZ NOT! I tried out Borg Incursion Mod! It´s horrible! I really don`t want to get old and grey while playing! FleetOps already has a very slow gameplay.

What should be stronger are starbases. I thought of expansion upgrades for starbases only so that e.g. klingon base can shot multiple torpedos on different targets, or also has phasers or disruptors after upgrading. Think of an attack by Akiras or Galaxys...Klingon starbases don't have a sec of a chance.

But don't increase shieldings too much! PLZ!

what I think it's very important: Ships should be able to retreat. only with impulse it's very difficult in contrast to range of weapons. maybe an increase of hull structure points would solve that problem. But not too much! It's quite good lik it is.

true enough jan, but i must admit, in terms of hitpoints ( both shield & hull) there is very little to choose from between ships. a possible way round this is to make the ships only slightly stronger and the weapons slightly weaker. this way you will find that your ships will last that much longer, without you ending up pulling your hair out urging your fleet to kill that last bugship :D .

think the problem with BI:VR was that the weapons themselves were on the weak side. though you cant fualt the time & effort that went into it B)

Well I only want stations to get stronger not ships, its more canon that way IMO :)

the problem about this idea is, if we make everything stronger and if we increase build time, it canceless it's self out, it would be the same as if we only increased build time.

By increasing build time and strenght u also increase the time it takes for this building to be defeated :P

Depends what u strenghten, if you only strenghten Hps and keep the weapons the same.... ;)

Plus I dont think ships should be stronger anyhow...

well if you got a small ship now it's meaningless since it's dead with one shot,

so you just try to build the strongest as you can and the little ships have no use,

like maybe a group of fed scouts could take out a ship instead of being dead in 1 shot,

makes it more intresting since you are then on the edge of your seat if your ship will destroy or wound it enough to make it retreat because that player doesn't want to loose the cash he spend on it
