i really like SC2 observer stuff.. you can see everything; resources, how many ships are on field, how many shields and or research is on field/building/qued, switching between team fogs, and so much more! :sweatdrop:

And even if you don't apply anything, thanks for looking into it.

Well, SC2 (at least in multiplayer) is a very fast and action-oriented game. The average battle.Net ladder game lasts around 7 minutes at the moment (down from 11 minutes of warcraft3). We don't have a ladder for Fleet Operations, but the active multiplayer games should last quite longer, even if they are fast.
Yep there are similarities - they are both RTS games after all - but the goal and the priorities are quite different. Fleet Operations works more with long term strategy and map control, while StarCraft2s focus seems to be more on tactical unit management. We are currently adding more abilities which allow to gain benefits due to more micro management, but we do still like to keep a very strategic scope. After all, its a strategy game :) we dont want to have the average game time drop below 30 minutes! :D

As a side note, I'm a big fan of Starcraft, and the Starcraft 2 campaign is very cool :) multiplayer is far too fast for my style, but its still a cool game ^-^

I would LOVE a queuing option for the Construction ships  i would also like the ability for other construction ships to assist in the building to speed it up a bit of course resource depletion would speed up an appropriate amount as well.  any of you guys ever play TA (Total Annihilation) you know what I'm talking about.

I loved TA.  It was my first RTS and will always remain in my heart.  And yet I don't think FO should try to copy it in any way, it wouldn't survive the transition.  Well, except maybe radar but that would still change the game radically.

I only mean the queuing and build assist things.

I need to get my CC disk repaired then I could play TA again I used to play it for hours and hours epic 4+ hour MP games on The Zone.    I can just imagine GOW on 10 speed on this rig.. a Buzzsaw or vulcan  would be a freaking machine gun

You can torrent everything TA, plus patches.  I think it's been declared public domain (and if it hasn't I guarantee the owners have decided not to enforce their rights)  The way I see it, people obtaining TA "illegally" can only increase SupCom sales at this point, so it's in their favor.  Just like people torrenting Armada II can only increase sales of future Star Trek games. (Don't worry I bought the game forever ago)

It was so amazing, the crazy things you could do in that game.  I once hit a flying construction plane with a buzzsaw, it was awesome.

I don't know if FO could adapt the old TA build queue.  I don't think I've ever played another game with a limitless build queue (or at least one that went over 100)

dont really need a limitless queue for the construction ships id say 10  would be perfectly fine by me  just something so well im off trying micromanage my assault fleet  my con ships back at the base are building something instead of sitting there doing nothing after they completed whatever i had them build.

yea TA was fun as heck and pretty modable  I modded it a bit i was part of a mod group for it.

i loved ta too.

i would like the ability to give a con ship orders at the start and it will then build everything in order.

i also liked the way that stuff would start building even if the resources weren't available at the start. i liked that resource system, but i dont think the armada engine could do it.

the radar system would be interesting for fo. maybe sensor stations could show minimap contacts for stuff thats not in visual range. it might get messy though.

the hyperspace sensor system is better though, it can explore the map lol.

also tryptic, please stop mentioning downloading games using torrents and similar stuff.

The idea of seeing ships on the minimap (or visually but without being able to tell what ship class it is) when they are just outside sensor range was suggested by me a month or two ago, no word from the devs whether they plan to implement it.
Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations - Sensors detecting ships outside visual range.

The current con ship queueing is indeed annoying, I would love to be able to tell my constructors all of what to build so I can focus more on microing my ships.

I would like to see building stuff even if not all the res was available at the time, but only on buildings since they are the real problem (rarely ever is a ship hung up on less than 100 of a resource and only about half a miner load (often I will be about that much short dil or just 1 tritanium short of a mining station for my expansion.) Of course this could be exploited if you lose your miners and don't quite hav enuff res, so would hav to make the building automatically stop construction if the needed res wasn't available by the time it finishes (with the game continually trying to take the needed res from you while the structure builds until it is paid off.)

I think all of these, except the last one, are great ideas. Hopefully the devs take notice of this thread.
