It could be the system upgrade, not as much power as an offensive upgrade, but with a twist.

I like that idea! I'm not thrilled with the torpedoes for all adjustment in 3.1.2, maybe go back to mayson have norways and torpedoes, and give risner both her fighter carrier and fighter turrets.Professor J wrote:Hangar-Style Turrets?
I could also easily see the klingons getting behind the idea of "the honour of defending your base in personal combat" as more attractive than pushing the phaser button over and over again from the turret control deck. after all, their scouts already get a fighter-style bonus

I would not be adverse to all stations haveing a Small taskforce of Small craft to augment a stations Off +1 and Def. +2 capacities. Star bases would have to research a C/C module and hangar bay slot for the stations.
Each hangar bay would house 5 craft. Max total of two hanger bays could be built for a large outpost . Each race would have a specfic atributes . Feds could have a Augment cloak detection. the small craft deployed would be combined EW /C &C craft like the US Airforce AWACs (Sensor Net) . Romulan craft could deploy a mini mine like the Generex support refit . Klingon Small craft could auto deploy micro turret that after so many shots turns in to a micro graviton marker mine . Dominon small craft could have a single shot torpedo launcher and a "For the Founder "Ram ability . Borg get nothing . Deployment would be a Fixed distance from the station , and in a circle that each station that has the fighter module installed and deployed from. Implementation I feel would spice up game play yet not radically alter the feel and outcome of the game. The cost to deploy would cost XX Dia & XX Tri and XX Sp's every time they are deployed. The SC's could be recalled to recrew and recharge their special energy from the hanger bay.
