Any chance of the Sorcerer Class being added? It could make a decent Warp-In.

Not sure if i like it either. Also not sure how this class would fit in with the existing excelsior and ambassador classes.

If a ship is added i'd prefer to see this one as an experimental

'Next step'? Where did 'next step' come from? It doesn't take long to see that this is the same basic era as the Excelsior. An era it fits with perfectly, it's similar to an Excelsior-style version of the Constitution refit.

As much as I like the Achilles (the only decent thing about the game), it just barely fits Starfleet at all. It's even less Starfleet-norm than the strange and boxy Defiant.

I would love to see the achilles as a rare warpin ship.  A warship bread for battle!

but this ship(the one the thread is about) is ok too.

Having looked at the designs again i think it is too similar to the excelsior.
This would make it a virtual clone of that vessel. I'm beginning to dislike the design more every time i look at it.

Personally i don't think it should be added.

As for the Achilles being too unlike Star fleet (i assume combat oriented) how would you view the Prometeus class which was clearly a combat oriented design.

Perhaps a sticky topic should be added in this section for all the proposed vessels for warp-in. That would certainly make it easier to browse through previous suggestions and examine the pro/con of each.

I like it except for 2 things and these are a deal breaker for me. The overuse of blue IMO and the odd shape of the pylons/nacelles. On top of that we already have the excell 2 and this to me looks like another take on a excelsior. I do like the saucer though so work on the engineering section and the nacelles and we could get a connie 2 out of it

It isn't my ship, it's from Demon Renegade Studios. Which actually has a few ships that could make a good Constitution-II Class.

The look, rather than the purpose (I mentioned the Defiant being 'strange and boxy'). I don't consider combat-focused ships being non-Starfleet unless they're incapable of at least some kind of exploration. The Achilles looks more like a Minbari ship trying to masquerading as something Starfleet designed.

Tis a good idea.  You could cite many different un-federationlike vessles that are canon.  Defiant, Steamrunner, Prometheus, ect.  and what about ships already in FO? Remoore, Avalon... even the construction ships are not very federation like.

All I mean by this is that I don't think the Devs really have a problem with ships that have odd designs.  I for one welcome any, and all new design additions to the game.  The more the merrier. :woot:

It doesn't look boxy to me:

I never called the Achilles boxy, that one's about as boxy as the Sovereign. I only said it didn't look like the Starfleet norm (Constitution, Galaxy and Excelsior are the most common shape).

This ship, meh.. It kind of looks like (read: is) an Excelsior which went in for repairs and they couldn't get the right parts.

The Achilles actually doesn't look too bad. Although it does look a little like someone put a Norway on top of an Intrepid and put them through one of those pasta roller things.
