First of all: You did a very nice work to improve the Armada2 graphics  . I have further "little" suggestions... perhaps, you can make

- the ruins/wreckage after a explosion more transparency... that means, if a ship blows up, the wreckage flys through the space ... and gets more and more transparent after it disappears at all. That will be a smooth way, death units find their way into eternity ;)

- the engines more dynamic... If a unit starts to fly, the engines (fed: blue, borg: green, Klingon: red, and so on...) will light up... like ships, which sails expand after the wind starts to push the ship...

I can't remember a scene where the stuff you described with the engines happened in canon(leaving aside going to warp) . Even if we'd take it, only the impulse engines would light up, which are pretty small on most ships. I'm not sure if the result would justify the effort to implement it, since you'd hardly see it.

That idea about wreckages sounds nice though :).

Well, your are right.  ;) It was just an idea... I don't know if the developers like to make a 100% Star Trek Game with all detailed facts in it, or they want to loose some Star Trek physics to increase gameplay feeling... it is a matter of taste  :)

Theres already an existing wreckage mod. I think i've seen it on one of Mals youtube replays. Takes a lot of performance though.

For coloring ships theres a weapon color mod available. All weapon fire becomes the color of the teamcolor you have chosen.

Both work in multiplayer games. Could be nice though to get those in FO without moding yourself by just clicking a checkbox.

About the engine coloring: as Hope said.
