I know, I made some of the suggestions several times, but i just want to check out, if you consider(ed) some of them. Others are rethought, to make them less "agressive" (I mean not to change the game completely). I left out most of them, you said, that it would be nonsense.
And of course I have some new ideas here.
Fed:
- Intrepid moving Nacelles: I know, you don´t have Warp and 2 Special Weapons for one regular ship is too much. But it would be cool to move them up and down either for fun or for distributing energy between enginnes and weapons
- Norway: what kind of special weapon does it have? I hope, the Peregrine Raider lancher I suggested (The ship design makes it obvious that it is a carrier).
- Change the Yard for the excelsior 2 with the steamrunner. Excelsior are not build, they are just upgraded old excelsiors, i think. the steamrunner is a ship, wich is still constructed with newest technology.
- The Defiant in Armada 1 and 2 has antimatter mines just like in DS9 5x26. this makes the Ship imo more tactical (laying traps in front of my base). It also makes it feel like the Terran Spider-Mines from StarCraft.
- The critical Shot could be added by an upgrade, called the Dominion War refit. There are afaik 2 Weapon desings of the Defiant Class: 2 front and 1 aft torpedo, 1 pulse and 1 foront and 1 aft torpedo, 2 pulse.
- The Nebula doesn´t make much of a science ship, if it has only one special weapon, wich is already the same as th intrepids one. It should get at least 3 spw, wich are very scientiffic (but not to crazy), e.g. Shield Disruptor, Engineering Team, Sensor Shadow (former Gemini effect). The cost of Credits keeps the balace.
- Souvereign: There are also 2 weapon desings: ST8 and ST10, you could add an Nemesis refit upgrade for this ship.
- I like the original artillery torpedo design (boom!
) much more than the FO2 one.
- The Nova could be added as an avatar-ship, the Danube as a better avatar-variant instead of the Venture.
Kli:
- Make the ships cheaper (and faster to build?), but without self-repair ability. Seems more klingon to me. Let them die with honor.
- B´rel and K´Vort should get moveable wings like the Intrepid for the same reasons (fun or energy).
- K´Vort should fire Aritllery Torpedos, wich are weaker and have less range than the fed/rom pendats, but they can be fired while cloaked (like in ST6, why shouldn´t they have such technology 100 years later) - btw. longer breaks between firing torpedoes wouldn´t be a good idea, because it gives the other players a minor chance to find out, wich direction it came from to send a scout to the spot.
- Like the Nebula, the BortaS should get more spw (Death Chant, small Shockwave, and of course Ion Storm) but cost credits. I don´t know why you call this ship not simply Fek´lhr. The similar looking Fek´lhr is afaik also in Dominion Wars and in Starfleet Command 3. So it must be canon.
Rom:
- The Draconarius is my favorite Aramda2 ship design. Did you ever consider using it for FO3, e.g. as avatar
- I like to play a Romuland with Shrike AND Griffin. Maybe you could change the ship types, so that one of them is a regular ship.
- I don´t like the Tavara. The huge Valdore (why do you even call it Norexan, the Valdore named (in your case Norexan-)Ship could be the first ship of the class and have the ship types name, it would be more recognizeable) should be the biggest ship in the romulan fleet. make the Tavara an avatar ship, instead of the Griffin (with changed special weapon: no one would send a giant ship like the Tavara, just to release an entering team).
- why do the Romulans don´t have a science ship, there can be funny special weapons: Energy Absorbing Mines (Ship is taking Damage and has no more SPW-Energy), Sensor Scrambler, Holo-Cloak Drone (from Enterprise Season 4)
Borg:
In case, you want to make major changes to the borg:
- Only Cubes should be constructed in a Cube (instead advanced) Assembly Matrix, and cost Credits.
- They need fully researched technology to be build.
- In exchange they are really, really strong (e.g. 1 cube vs. 5 Souvereigns wins).
- They can be upgraded by tactical armoring, wich must be researched first (not needed for a cube.) - it is also possible for some other borgships (sphere)
- 8 cubes can be connected to a (tactical) fusion cube, if not tactical it can be armored later. There can be only one big big fusion cube (but how?? - for players invilible secondary credits??). important: it shouln´t look like a puzzle cube like in A2, more like one big cube with small, hardly visible remaining spots from the fusion process.
- Diamond is buildable in the Assembly Matrix as the highest tech ship, and is a similar science ship like the other species ones, but it has less special weapons and does not cost credits (i.e. just like it is now
)
- The Borg-Symbol is red not green (like in your techteree-section)
Cardassians:
- So mans FO fans want Cardis as regular in the game, is there a (big) chance, they make it in FO4? They deserved it. They play a major role in the ST-Universe.
Avatars:
- Why don´t you use Thoral insted of TaQ´roja as Duras Klingon Avatar? He is the last reaining Duras-Member (seen in TNG "Reckoning 1&2 and DS9 "The Sword of Kahless")
- Admiral Ross would be more canon than Mayson. He also fits in that Profile. Maybe with Danube instead of Venture buildable, witch is better armored and weaponed, but has no Tachyon Scan.
- The Romulans could have Donatra as Imperial Fleet Avatar and Sela as Tal´Shiar Avatar.
- 3rd Avatars:
Federation - Mayson: Every Ship/Station has Tachyon Scan, Canaveral has all upgrades and Nova-Class with Deep-Space sensors can be build.
Klingon - Kahless Clone: Something more honorable and spiritual abilities (death chant,...)
Romulan - Reman Alliance: Reman Ships can be built, Scimitar replaces Norexan (Tavara is not regulary buildable in my suggestion), Talaron Ray special abilities available.
Dominion - Vortha: Better Cloning Abilities
or Founder: Can use Changeling Spy
(depends on what the second Avatar is)
Borg - Directive Adaption: All vessels have Regeneration and some can assimilate Technology
General:
- I once suggested an Repair Authonomy, that you can tell ships wich are e.g. on a S&D-Mission, to return to the shipyard if the damage is affecting systems or critical, or to stay in fleet, if you want to keep them together. Did you check out, if it would work?
- Maybe it is possible, that I lack sometimes of Tritanium or Dilithium in the game. Can you add an "exchange T for D" or "D for T" button (like buy/sell D/M in A2) in the hq or mining station?
And of course I have some new ideas here.

I totally agree with many of the suggestions, not all of them. Cardassians in FO and the Remans would be really nice.

there are two things that I would never allow, first the Ex 2 is staying no steamrunner, if we want to replace mabey the caravel with the Steamrunner, and then furthermore give the Caravel's abilities to Nebula
Second, there is no way that the k'vort is an artillary ship it simply isn't in the whole klingon nature, too cowardice. I Do however have just a wee suggestion for the klingons, is there any way we could make their weapons lime green rather than their current color? and could we also make the B'rel much more rapid fire, making the stregth weaker to balance out but more of a rapid fire

I was talking about changing the Shipyard, becaue Excelsior Ships are already built, those ships exist since nearly a century and are upgraded from time to time (Excelsior 2 is imo an old-skool Excelsior class with newer hull-plating , warp nacelles and weaponry (that´s why it has similarities to the Souverein color)). So it is logical, that they are warp-in vessels. The Steamrunner is a newer construction witch is still up to date, so they could be built as new ones, instead of being warped in.
Why do the klingons have cloaking devices if they don´t use such coward strategies?

I agree, I don't see why we need an excelsior 2 anyway. Wouldn't a real excelsior fit the profile nicely? And I like they way they look better too.

Give the option of the lakota refit for an avatar, which gives it Quantums anyway.

But for the borg I wouldnt like ANY fusion what so ever, I think their vessles are solid and are built as a whole, not by fusing 8 cubes together :S
I also dont agree with the artillery torps on kvort
I agree on the Excelsior 2
, and it would be better if the steamrunner was buildable, but with phasers as it was in the movies and not a long range artillery

well you guys should learn ODF and TT editing. Its no hard and you can customize your FO to your standards. As for models I'm sure that you guys can find/make models to add/replace the ones you already have. Just dont release your own verison of FO

Also the steamrunner is a short ranged vessel, it's like an escort ship, often accompanies Akiras. Some idiot thought it would be funny to give it unreal weapons.
