Small Borg Shields

I was thinking that maybe the Borg should have shields.  They don't have to be very strong shields, but the shields should be just strong enough to prevent transport and provide some protection.  Putting the shields at 10 to 20% the strength of the hull should be enough to make it harder to do an immediate transport attack while at the same time, not upsetting the balance of the game too much.

why?

borg already have high crew. capturing a borg ship is not easy. if u have the ability to do so without reprisal then you probably have won already.

The high crew and ability to transport back without having to worry about lowering shields means that transporting to a Borg ship often makes your ship easier to assimilate.

It's not like Borg shields were ever 'conventional' by other races standards.

Indeed. As a matter of fact there is substantial evidence to support that vast areas of borg cubes are actually open to space. Only some sort of containment field is what separates the drones from the vacuum. Therefore Borg ships are most definitely equipped with energy fields but they are not employed in the ('bubble-around the ship' standard shield) implementation used by other races.
