so evasive maneuvers aside, one thing i've notice is how the ships move in the game.. it's so programed.. as you know if you want a ship to go in the opposite side it turns 360^ on its axis and go on in strigth line, why not make it more dynamic, moving in diffrent ways from point a to point b.. like the ships never moves backwards or to the sides or a combination etc.

i know its not a big deal but its one of these little things which will add to great realistic feeling.

Yup, I believe this has been on to do for quite some time, but is somewhat complex to fix  :(.

Yeah thats the downside of this, it's so unbelievably hard to fix, goes all the way down to basics. Wouldn't get your hopes up on any change.

Here's another idea related to ship movement: How about differentiating moving ships from ships standing still? (in most land based RTS games, there is a walking animation and a standing still animation which just adds a little bit of life to the game) With ships, it's a little harder (generally, no moving parts), but the thing that came to mind is having the ship's nacelles light up more while they are moving.

That's a cool idea, easy to implement and goes a long way in aesthetics. Also maybe a flashing light here and there on the ships, although that might get annoying depending on how its done.
